Installation of the Anti-Syphon Valve
WARNING:
DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING:
ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
- ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
- ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.

(2) Make sure that the lavatory door is open.

(4) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).

A. Installation of the Anti-Syphon Valve
(1) Make sure that the potable-water shutoff valve (5) is closed.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (5).
(3) Make sure that the COVER - BLANKING is in the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(5) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 38-31-41-40-060 O-RING (1) and AIPC 38-31-41-40-090 O-RINGS (6) and install them.
(6) Put the anti-syphon valve (4) in position.
(7) Install the washers (2) and the nuts (3).
(8) Install the sleeve (8) and the coupling clamp (7).
(9) Make sure that the coupling clamp (7) is locked correctly:
(11) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) related to the potable-water shutoff valve (5).
(12) Open the potable-water shutoff valve (5).
Subtask 38-31-56-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the potable-water shutoff valve (5) is closed.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (5).
(3) Make sure that the COVER - BLANKING is in the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(5) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 38-31-41-40-060 O-RING (1) and AIPC 38-31-41-40-090 O-RINGS (6) and install them.
(6) Put the anti-syphon valve (4) in position.
(7) Install the washers (2) and the nuts (3).
(8) Install the sleeve (8) and the coupling clamp (7).
(9) Make sure that the coupling clamp (7) is locked correctly:
- axial adjustment is more than 6.35mm
- angular misalignment is +/- 4 degree in all the direction around centerline.
(11) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) related to the potable-water shutoff valve (5).
(12) Open the potable-water shutoff valve (5).

(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (4).
(3) Make sure that the COVER - BLANKING is in the suction port of the toilet bowl.

(6) Put the anti-syphon valve (1) in the installation position.
(7) Install the washers (2) and the nuts (3).
(8) Remove the COVER - BLANKING from the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(9) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) related to the potable-water shutoff valve (4).
(10) Open the potable-water shutoff valve (4).

(5) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 38-31-41-40-040 O-RING (5) and install it.
(6) Put the anti-syphon valve (1) in the installation position.
(7) Install the washers (2) and the nuts (3).
(8) Remove the COVER - BLANKING from the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(9) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) related to the potable-water shutoff valve (4).
(10) Open the potable-water shutoff valve (4).

(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
(3) Make sure that the COVER - BLANKING is in the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(5) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new AIPC 38-31-41-30-140 PACKING (9).
(6) Put the packing (9) in its correct installation position.
(7) Put the anti-syphon valve (4) in its correct installation position.
(8) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new AIPC 38-31-41-30-120 PACKING (11).
(9) Put the packing (11) in position between the outlet of the anti-syphon valve (4) and the inlet of the flush ring (1).
(10) Install the washers (5), the screws (6) and the nuts (10).
(11) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 35 and 25 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.28 m.daN )

(12) Install the quick-release clamp (8) and lock it.
(13) Make sure that the quick-release clamp (8) is locked correctly.
(14) Push the fitting (7) and connect the tube (2) to the anti-syphon valve (4).
(15) Remove the COVER - BLANKING from the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(16) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) related to the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
(17) Open the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
Subtask 38-31-56-865-064-A (1) Make sure that the potable-water shutoff valve (3) is closed.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
(3) Make sure that the COVER - BLANKING is in the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(5) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new AIPC 38-31-41-30-140 PACKING (9).
(6) Put the packing (9) in its correct installation position.
(7) Put the anti-syphon valve (4) in its correct installation position.
(8) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new AIPC 38-31-41-30-120 PACKING (11).
(9) Put the packing (11) in position between the outlet of the anti-syphon valve (4) and the inlet of the flush ring (1).
(10) Install the washers (5), the screws (6) and the nuts (10).
(11) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 35 and 25 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.28 m.daN )
. (12) Install the quick-release clamp (8) and lock it.
(13) Make sure that the quick-release clamp (8) is locked correctly.
(14) Push the fitting (7) and connect the tube (2) to the anti-syphon valve (4).
(15) Remove the COVER - BLANKING from the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(16) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) related to the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
(17) Open the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Leak Test
(1) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-003).
(2) Operate the toilet and make sure that it flushes correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-710-009).
(3) Make sure that the anti-syphon valve does not leak.
Subtask 38-31-56-670-050-A (1) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-003).
(2) Operate the toilet and make sure that it flushes correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-710-009).
(3) Make sure that the anti-syphon valve does not leak.
D. Disinfection of the Potable Water System
(1) Do the disinfection of the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-670-002).
5. Close-up(1) Do the disinfection of the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-670-002).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-400-001).
(3) Close the lavatory door.
(4) Put the system back to the serviceable condition.
Subtask 38-31-56-410-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-400-001).
(3) Close the lavatory door.
(4) Put the system back to the serviceable condition.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-400-802).
(3) Close the lavatory door.
(4) Put the system back to the serviceable condition.
