TASK 38-10-00-670-006-A
Disinfection of the Water Tank and Distribution System with Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) HERLISIL or H BIO T50 or SANOSIL with the Water Disinfection Doser

WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
WARNING: AFTER THE DISINFECTION PROCEDURE, REMOVE ALL USED PROTECTIVE PAPER AND/OR CLOTH RAGS AND DISCARD THEM IMMEDIATELY. TO KNOW HOW TO DO THIS SAFELY, REFER TO THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS. IF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE SOLUTION DRIES ONTO ORGANIC MATERIALS SUCH AS PAPER OR CLOTH, THESE MATERIALS CAN SUDDENLY START TO BURN.
NOTE: Before you do the disinfection procedure, do an analysis of the water you will use. Make sure that the analysis result is within the limits given for drinking water by the local authority.

H. Installation of the 98F38108656000 DOSER-WATER DISINFECTION
NOTE: The Doser-Water Disinfection can only be used with a disinfection solution of 50% H2O2.
   (1) Prepare the water disinfection doser.
   (2) Before you use the water disinfection doser make sure that it is:
     (a) Correctly calibrated, clean and disinfected (refer to the manufacturer's instructions).
   (3) Put the disinfection tool in position at PWSP 2023VU.
   (4) Connect the water supply hose to the inlet of the water disinfection doser.
NOTE: Airbus recommends:
  • To use the water from the cold water tap for the disinfection of the potable water system.
  • Not to keep the water or the disinfectant solution in a very cold or very hot condition before you do the disinfection procedure.
   (5) Put the outlet hose of the water disinfection doser into a CONTAINER 30 L(8 USGAL).
   (6) Put the small chemical tube into the container with the disinfection solution of Disinfectant-Potable Water System Hydrogen Peroxide - (Material No.11AKC1) .
   (7) At the 98F38108656000 DOSER-WATER DISINFECTION:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE WATER PRESSURE IS NOT MORE THAN 3.45 BARS (50.0 PSI). IF THE WATER PRESSURE IS MORE THAN 3.45 BARS (50.0 PSI), DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Adjust the water pressure to between 3.0 bar (43.5113 psi) and 3.45 bar (50.0380 psi).
     (b) For a sodium hydrogen peroxide solution with 50 percent Hydrogen peroxide:
  • Adjust the proportional doser to a value of 0.09 percent.
     (c) Turn the inlet valve (membrane valve) a small distance to open it, but do not fully open it at this time.
   (8) Bleed the Water Disinfection Doser:
     (a) Push the bleed button on the top of the doser unit to bleed the system.
     (b) Keep the bleed button pushed until no air but only water comes from the bleed button.
     (c) Release the bleed button.
   (9) Open the outlet valve of the water disinfection doser.
   (10) Slowly open the inlet valve (membrane valve) until it is fully open (the water disinfection doser is self-priming).
   (11) Operate the water disinfection doser until the disinfectant starts to flow into the doser unit without air bubbles in the plastic tube.
NOTE: You can see the disinfectant flow through the plastic tube.
A "click clack" noise is typical for the DOSATRON unit when it is in operation.
   (12) Operate the water disinfection doser for 2 - 3 min and let approximately 20. l (5.2834 USgal) of disinfection solution flow into the container.
   (13) Close the outlet valve of the water disinfection doser.

C. Disinfection of the Potable-Water Distribution System with Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) HERLISIL or H BIO T50 or SANOSIL
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE WATER WITH THE DISINFECTANT SOLUTION ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. DO NOT LET WATER TOUCH SURFACES OTHER THAN THE WASH BASIN (WHEN THE NOZZLE ASSY IS NOT ON THE FAUCET, THE SOLUTION FLOWS OUT HORIZONTALLY). TO DO THIS: - PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
  • PUT ON EYE PROTECTION OR GOGGLES
  • PUT A GUARD AROUND THE WATER FAUCET OUTLET TO CAUSE SPRAY FROM THE SOLUTION TO FLOW INTO THE WASH BASIN (SPRAY FROM THE SOLUTION MUST NOT GO ON ADJACENT SURFACES).
   (1) Open all the manual shutoff valves in the lavatories and the galleys.
   (2) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-003).
   (3) In the lavatories:
     (a) Set the water faucet to the COLD position and fill the washbasin with water (approximately 3 l (0.79 USgal)) until it flows down the overflow vent.
     (b) Drain the washbasin fully.
     (c) Set the water faucet to the HOT position and fill the washbasin with water (approximately 3 l (0.79 USgal)) until it flows down the overflow vent.
     (d) Drain the washbasin fully.
     (e) Flush each toilet 15 times.
   (4) In the galleys:
     (a) Operate the water faucets at the sinks.
     (b) From each potable water connection, let 5 l (1.3 USgal) of water flow through the sink.
     (c) Close all the manual shutoff valves in the galleys and lavatories first, then close the fill and drain valves (this lets the disinfection solution soak on the two faces of the shutoff valves).
     (d) Open the shutoff valves again.
   (5) Depressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
NOTE: If the potable water system is depressurized, the solution can flow out of the POTABLE WATER OVERFLOW port, when the potable water tank is filled.
   (6) Fill the potable water system again manually with disinfectant solution until it flows out of the POTABLE WATER OVERFLOW port (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-002).
NOTE: This is to make sure that the system is full.
   (7) Let the disinfectant solution stay in the system for 1 hour.
   (8) Do step C.(1) to (6) again and let the solution stay in the system for another 0.5 hour more.

       2 Drain the washbasin fully.
3 Set the water faucet to the HOT position and fill the washbasin with water to the overflow level (approximately 3 l (0.8 USgal)).
       4 Drain the washbasin fully.
5 Flush each toilet 15 times.
