Disinfection of the Water Tank and Distribution System with Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) HERLISIL or H BIO T50 or SANOSIL

TASK 38-10-00-670-004-A
Disinfection of the Water Tank and Distribution System with Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) HERLISIL or H BIO T50 or SANOSIL

WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
WARNING: AFTER THE DISINFECTION PROCEDURE, REMOVE ALL USED PROTECTIVE PAPER AND/OR CLOTH RAGS AND DISCARD THEM IMMEDIATELY. TO KNOW HOW TO DO THIS SAFELY, REFER TO THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS. IF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE SOLUTION DRIES ONTO ORGANIC MATERIALS SUCH AS PAPER OR CLOTH, THESE MATERIALS CAN SUDDENLY START TO BURN.
NOTE: Before you do the disinfection procedure, do an analysis of the water you will use. Make sure that the analysis result is within the limits given for drinking water by the local authority.

C. Preparation of the Disinfectant Solution with Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) HERLISIL or H BIO T50 or SANOSIL - for 50% H202 concentration
WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
  • GET MEDICAL AID.
   (1) Use the Disinfectant-Potable Water System Hydrogen Peroxide - (Material No.11AKC1) for the disinfection of the potable water system as given in Table 1.
NOTE: Airbus recommends:
  • To use the water from the cold water tap for the disinfection of the potable water system.
  • Not to keep the water or the disinfectant solution in a very cold or very hot condition before you do the disinfection procedure.

** The weight is calculated for pure hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).
*** The value is for liquid disinfectant which contains approximately 50% active hydrogen peroxide in l (USgal).
It is necessary to obey the manufacturer's instructions when you use these products.

NOTE: If you think that there is a large amount of contamination in the potable water system:
  • It is necessary to let the disinfection solution flow longer through the water faucets in the lavatories and in the galleys.
  • This is to make sure that the potable water system is clean.

WARNING: DO NOT GET THE WATER WITH THE DISINFECTANT SOLUTION ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. DO NOT LET WATER TOUCH SURFACES OTHER THAN THE WASH BASIN (WHEN THE NOZZLE ASSY IS NOT ON THE FAUCET, THE SOLUTION FLOWS OUT HORIZONTALLY). TO DO THIS: - PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
  • PUT ON EYE PROTECTION OR GOGGLES
  • PUT A GUARD AROUND THE WATER FAUCET OUTLET TO CAUSE SPRAY FROM THE SOLUTION TO FLOW INTO THE WASH BASIN (SPRAY FROM THE SOLUTION MUST NOT GO ON ADJACENT SURFACES).
   (1) Make sure that you did the depressurization of the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
NOTE: If you release the pressure of the potable water system, the solution can flow out of the POTABLE WATER OVERFLOW port when you fill the potable water tank.
   (2) On the PWSP, turn and pull the FILL OVERFLOW DRAIN handle from the NORMAL to the FILL position.
   (3) Fill the potable water system:
     (a) Connect the CART - SERVICING, WATER, POTABLE or the WATER SOURCE - GROUND to the fill port at the PWSP.
