3. Job Set-up
Subtask 36-21-49-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shut down occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on),
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off),
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system is in its position.
   (4) On the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2) is in its position.
   (5) On the HP ground connector:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system is in its position.
   (6) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off,
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2) is in its position.
   (7) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in its position below the engine.

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Make sure that the thrust reverser doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is deactivated (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).
4. Procedure
Subtask 36-21-49-420-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Pressure Indicating Tubes
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY LUBRICANT TO THE THREADS OF PRV SENSE LINE UNIONS AND HP BLEED OVERRIDE SOLENOID SENSE LINE UNIONS. LUBRICANT CAN CAUSE POLLUTION OF THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM.
   (1) Put the pressure indicating tubes (4) and (5) in their positions on the engine and connect the tube nuts. Tighten the tube nuts with your hand.
NOTE: It may be necessary and is permissible to carefully hand-form the tube at installation to eliminate any pre-load on the tube.
   (2) Install the support clips, the bolts and the spacers in the positions written during the removal (Ref. AMM TASK 36-21-49-000-010).
   (3) TORQUE the tube nuts on the pressure indicating tubes (4) and (5) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (4) Examine the tubes for clearance between adjacent parts.
   (5) Safety the tube nuts on the pressure indicating tubes (4) and (5) with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
Subtask 36-21-49-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Pressure Indicating Tubes (PRE SB36-1040, PRE SBN36-0007)
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY LUBRICANT TO THE THREADS OF PRV SENSE LINE UNIONS AND HP BLEED OVERRIDE SOLENOID SENSE LINE UNIONS. LUBRICANT CAN CAUSE POLLUTION OF THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM.
   (1) Put the pressure indicating tubes (3), (4), (5), (6), and (8) in their positions on the engine and connect the tube nuts. Tighten the tube nuts with your hand.
NOTE: It may be necessary and is permissible to carefully handform the tube at installation to eliminate any pre-load on the tube.
   (2) Install the support clips, bolts, nuts, spacers, sleeve and washers in the positions written during the removal (Ref. AMM TASK 36-21-49-000-010).
   (3) TORQUE the tube nuts on the pressure indicating tube (3), (4), (5), (6) and (8) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (4) Examine the tubes for clearance from the adjacent parts.
   (5) Safety the tube nuts on the pressure indicating tubes (3), (4), (5), (6) and (8) with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
Subtask 36-21-49-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Installation of the Pressure Indicating Tubes (POST SB36-1040, POST SBN36-0007)
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY LUBRICANT TO THE THREADS OF PRV SENSE LINE UNIONS AND HP BLEED OVERRIDE SOLENOID SENSE LINE UNIONS. LUBRICANT CAN CAUSE POLLUTION OF THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM.
   (1) Put the pressure indicating tubes (4) and (5) in their positions on the engine and connect the tube nuts. Tighten the tube nuts with your hand.
NOTE: It may be necessary and is permitted to carefully hand-form the tube during installation to eliminate any pre-load on the tube.
   (2) Install the support clips, the bolts and the spacers in the position written during the removal (Ref. AMM TASK 36-21-49-000-010).
   (3) TORQUE the tube nuts on the pressure indicating tubes (4) and (5) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (4) Examine the tubes for clearance between the adjacent parts.
   (5) Safety the tube nuts on the pressure indicating tubes (4) and (5) with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

B. Activate the thrust reverser HCU (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-012).

C. Close Access
   (1) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
