B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred for not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:

(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on)
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off)
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser (T/R) System
Subtask 36-11-49-010-326-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that the T/R is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041). F. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the T/R doors are open:
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the engine.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the T/R doors are open:
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the engine.

A. Installation of the Upper HP Duct Links
PRE SB RA32036-10
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(a) Adjust the link (2) to approximately 3.3 in. (83.82 mm) between hole centers.
(d) Adjust the link (2) to permit the bolt to enter without binding.
(e) TORQUE the adjustment nut (11) on the support link to between 60 and 54 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.61 m.daN )

CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia
(g) Install the link (2) on the bracket (6) with the bolt (9), bushing (7), washer (8) and nut (10).

(j) Adjust the link (3) to approximately 2.62 in. (66.55 mm) between hole centers.
(m) Adjust the link (3) to permit the bolt to enter without binding.
(n) TORQUE the adjustment nut (11) on the support link to between 60 and 54 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.61 m.daN )

(p) Install the link (3) on the bracket (12) with the bolt (9), bushing (7), washer (8) and nut (10).

(a) Adjust the link (2) to approximately 3.3 in. (83.82 mm) between hole centers.

(e) TORQUE the adjustment nut (10) on the support link to between 60 and 54 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.61 m.daN )

WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Install the upper HP duct links (2) and (3) on the brackets (6) and (12) at STA. 239 and STA. 233 as follows: (a) Adjust the link (2) to approximately 3.3 in. (83.82 mm) between hole centers.
NOTE: This value is nominal. You can adjust it to facilitate the assembly of the duct.
(b) Temporarily install the link (2) on the bracket (6) with the bolt (9), bushing (7), washer (8) and nut (10). NOTE: Make sure the countersunk side of the washer (8) is against the bolt (9) head.
(c) Temporarily attach the link (2) to the upper HP duct with the bolt (5), washer (4) and nut (1). (d) Adjust the link (2) to permit the bolt to enter without binding.
(e) TORQUE the adjustment nut (11) on the support link to between 60 and 54 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.61 m.daN )
. WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(f) Safety the nut (11) with (g) Install the link (2) on the bracket (6) with the bolt (9), bushing (7), washer (8) and nut (10).
NOTE: Make sure the countersunk side of the washer (8) is against the bolt (9) head.
(h) Attach the link (2) to the upper HP duct with the bolt (5), washer (4) and nut (1). NOTE: Make sure the countersunk side of the washer (4) is against the bolt (5) head.
(i) TORQUE the nuts (1) and (10) to between 90 and 75 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.85 m.daN )
. (j) Adjust the link (3) to approximately 2.62 in. (66.55 mm) between hole centers.
NOTE: This value is nominal. You can adjust it to facilitate the assembly of the duct.
(k) Install the link (3) on the bracket (12) with the bolt (9), bushing (7), washer (8) and nut (10) temporarily. NOTE: Make sure the countersunk side of the washer (8) is against the bolt (9) head.
(l) Attach the link (3) to the upper HP duct with the bolt (5), washer (4) and nut (1) temporarily. (m) Adjust the link (3) to permit the bolt to enter without binding.
(n) TORQUE the adjustment nut (11) on the support link to between 60 and 54 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.61 m.daN )
. WARNING:

(q) Attach the link (3) to the upper HP duct with the bolt (5), washer (4) and nut (1). NOTE: Make sure the countersunk side of the washer (4) is against the bolt (5) head.
(r) TORQUE the nuts (1) and (10) to between 90 and 75 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.85 m.daN )

(f) Safety the nut (10) with (g) Install the link (2) on the bracket (5) with the bolt (8), bushing (6), washer (7) and nut (9).

(h) Attach the link (2) to the upper HP duct with the bolt (3), washer (4) and nut (1). NOTE: Make sure the countersunk side of the washer (4) is against the bolt (3) head.
(i) TORQUE the nuts (1) and (9) to between 90 and 75 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.85 m.daN )

B. Installation of the Mid Stage T-Duct Assembly Links
(1) Install the mid stage T links (5) and (4) on the brackets (7) and (12) at STA. 215 as follows:
(a) Adjust the link (5) to approximately 8.2 in. (208.28 mm) between hole centers.
(b) Install the link (5) on the bracket (7) with the bolt (10), bushing (8), washer (9) and nut (6).
(d) Install the link (4) on the bracket (12) with the bolt (10), bushing (8), washer (9) and nut (6).
(3) Hold the eyebolts on the links (5) and (4) in position and TORQUE the adjustment nut (11) on the support link to between 60 and 54 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.61 m.daN )
. Safety the nut (11) with CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia .
(4) Attach the links (5) and (4) to the T-duct with the bolts (3), washers (2) and nuts (1).

5. Close-up(1) Install the mid stage T links (5) and (4) on the brackets (7) and (12) at STA. 215 as follows:
(a) Adjust the link (5) to approximately 8.2 in. (208.28 mm) between hole centers.
(b) Install the link (5) on the bracket (7) with the bolt (10), bushing (8), washer (9) and nut (6).
NOTE: Make sure the countersunk side of the washer (9) is against the bolt (10) head.
(c) Adjust the link (4) to approximately 3.86 in. (98.04 mm) between hole centers. (d) Install the link (4) on the bracket (12) with the bolt (10), bushing (8), washer (9) and nut (6).
NOTE: Make sure the countersunk side of the washer (9) is against the bolt (10) head.
(2) Attach the links (5) and (4) to the T-duct with the bolts (3), washers (2) and nuts (1). If necessary, loosen the locknut and adjust the links (5) and (4) to permit the bolts (3) to enter without binding. (3) Hold the eyebolts on the links (5) and (4) in position and TORQUE the adjustment nut (11) on the support link to between 60 and 54 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.61 m.daN )
. Safety the nut (11) with (4) Attach the links (5) and (4) to the T-duct with the bolts (3), washers (2) and nuts (1).
NOTE: Make sure the countersunk side of the washer (2) is against the bolt (3) head.
(5) TORQUE the nuts (1) and (6) to between 90 and 75 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.85 m.daN )
