A. Installation of the Wing Bellow
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(6) If a new wing bellow is installed, compress the wing bellow (2) with TIE WRAP(S).
(7) Put the wing bellow (2) in position between ducts (3) and (5).
(8) Install and tighten the clamp (4) on the duct (3) and the wing bellow (2).

WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SENSING ELEMENT.
(3) Remove the blanking caps from the ducts (3) and (5). (4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

C. Do this test:
(1) Pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-803) or with the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-802).
(2) 0n the AIR COND panel 30VU, put the X-BLEED selector switch in the OPEN position.
(3) If you pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector, the supplied pressure 30 psi (2.07 bar) must be stable.
(4) Make sure that there are no leaks at the junctions of:
2 Twist tight the seam of the foil wrap.
3 Make the foil wrap as tight as possible on the tube but do not rip the wrap.

5 Do a leak check:
(6) Install the insulation muff (1).
(a) If discarded during removal, install a new insulation muff (1) on the wing bellow (2).
(b) If not discarded, use again and install the removed insulation muff (1) on the wing bellow (2).
5. Close-up(1) Pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector (Ref.
- the duct (3) and the wing bellow (2).
- and the duct (5) and the wing bellow (2).
NOTE: There are two procedures to do a leak check at the connections of the bleed air ducts (duct joint, flexible connections).
(a) Soap solution procedure. - Leaks are permitted if the WATER - SOAPY SOLUTION stays on the joint line with a continuous series of bubbles. This shows that the leaks are not important.
- Leaks are not permitted if the air pressure (from the air source) blows the soap solution off the joint line and prevents a continuous series of bubbles.
NOTE: This procedure is recommended when you do a leak check with hot air.
1 Wind the FOIL - ALUMINUM on the joint once. 2 Twist tight the seam of the foil wrap.
3 Make the foil wrap as tight as possible on the tube but do not rip the wrap.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
4 Attach the foil wrap at the two sides of the pneumatic joint with 5 Do a leak check:
- You can use the condition of the aluminum foil wraps installed on the pneumatic connections to detect possible leaks. If there is a leak, the aluminum foil wrap will be broken, deformed or have a different color.
(6) Install the insulation muff (1).
(a) If discarded during removal, install a new insulation muff (1) on the wing bellow (2).
(b) If not discarded, use again and install the removed insulation muff (1) on the wing bellow (2).
