Operational Check of the Standby Compass Including Light Test and Visual Check (with the Standby Compass Calibrator)
1. Reason for the Job
Refer to the MPD TASK: 342200-01
OPERATIONAL CHECK OF THE STANDBY COMPASS INCLUDING LIGHT TEST AND VISUAL CHECK
To make sure that:
- The difference between the magnetic heading values on the standby compass and the standby compass calibrator is not more than + or - 8°.
- The lighting of the standby compass operates correctly.
- You can read the compass cards.
NOTE: There is an alternative method for this procedure. This task gives one of the methods. The other task in this Page Block gives the other method.
