A. Safety Precautions
(1) In the cockpit, on panel 25VU:

- Make sure that the STROBE switch is in the OFF position.
- Make sure that the NAV & LOGO switch is in the OFF position.
- Make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is in the OFF position.
- Make sure there is a warning notice to tell persons not to operate the navigation lights or the strobe lights.
- Make sure there is a warning notice to tell persons not to operate the APU.
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position in the APU tail-cone-exhaust area.
(2) Make sure that you removed the exhaust access-fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-18-000-001) or, as an alternative, the rear navigation and strobe light assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-17-000-801).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position in the APU tail-cone-exhaust area.
(2) Make sure that you removed the exhaust access-fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-18-000-001) or, as an alternative, the rear navigation and strobe light assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-17-000-801).
Subtask 33-41-18-910-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Apply the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the mating surfaces.
(4) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the screws (2) and (7) and the washers (3) and (6).
Subtask 33-41-18-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Apply the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the mating surfaces.
(4) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the screws (2) and (7) and the washers (3) and (6).
B. Installation of the Rear Navigation-Light Adaptor-Plate
(1) Install the rear navigation-light adaptor-plate (5) in the APU-exhaust access fairing.
(2) Install the washer (3) and the screw (2) for bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(3) Tighten the screw (2).
(4) Install the washers (6) and the screws (7).
(5) Tighten the screws (7).
(6) Apply the Silicone Sealant-Firewall High Temp. - (Material No.06BHG1) to the screws (2) and (7) and the washers (3) and (6).
(7) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(8) Connect the electrical connectors (1) and (4).
Subtask 33-41-18-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the rear navigation-light adaptor-plate (5) in the APU-exhaust access fairing.
(2) Install the washer (3) and the screw (2) for bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(3) Tighten the screw (2).
(4) Install the washers (6) and the screws (7).
(5) Tighten the screws (7).
(6) Apply the Silicone Sealant-Firewall High Temp. - (Material No.06BHG1) to the screws (2) and (7) and the washers (3) and (6).
(7) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(8) Connect the electrical connectors (1) and (4).
C. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the APU-exhaust access-fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-18-400-001) or, as an alternative, the rear navigation and strobe light assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-17-400-801).
Subtask 33-41-18-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the APU-exhaust access-fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-18-400-001) or, as an alternative, the rear navigation and strobe light assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-17-400-801).
D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Test
(1) Do the operational test of the rear navigation and strobe light assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-00-710-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-00-710-002).
