A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in the flight compartment to tell persons not to start the APU.
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT) is in position below the tail cone.

Subtask 52-41-18-560-050-A A. Preparation for Replacement Component
(1) If removed, install the tail cone strobe-light 19LV (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-13-400-001).
(2) If removed, install the navigation-light 15LA (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-15-400-001).
(3) If removed, install the tail navigation-light transformer 13LA (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-16-400-001).
Subtask 52-41-18-910-051-A (1) If removed, install the tail cone strobe-light 19LV (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-13-400-001).
(2) If removed, install the navigation-light 15LA (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-15-400-001).
(3) If removed, install the tail navigation-light transformer 13LA (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-16-400-001).
B. Preparation for Installation
(1) Remove the old sealant from the tail cone (11) with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that the sealing profile on the inner side of the fairing (1) is in the correct condition.
(5) Make sure that all the stud nuts (2) are attached to the fairing (1) by their retaining rings and no stud nut (2) is missing.
(6) Make sure that the retaining rings are in the correct condition.
(7) Make sure that the receptacles (10) at the tail cone (11) are in the correct condition.
(8) Apply a layer of the Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on the mating surfaces of the fairing (1) and the tail cone (11).

(5) Make sure that all the stud nuts (2) are attached to the fairing (1) by their retaining rings and no stud nut (2) is missing.
(6) Make sure that the retaining rings are in the correct condition.
(7) Make sure that the receptacles (10) at the tail cone (11) are in the correct condition.
(8) Apply a layer of the Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on the mating surfaces of the fairing (1) and the tail cone (11).
C. Installation of the APU Exhaust Access-Fairing 317AL
(1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Put the fairing (1) in position near the tail cone (11).
(4) Connect the electrical connectors (3) and (4) to the tail navigation-light transformer 13LA and the tail cone strobe-light 19LV.
(5) Attach the bonding strap (8) with the screw (6), the washer (7) and the nut (9) to the fairing (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Make sure that the guide-pin (5) at the tail cone (11) aligns with the mating hole of the fairing (1).
(7) Assemble the fairing (1) to the tail cone (11) and lock the five stud nuts (2).
Subtask 52-41-18-710-050-A (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Put the fairing (1) in position near the tail cone (11).
(4) Connect the electrical connectors (3) and (4) to the tail navigation-light transformer 13LA and the tail cone strobe-light 19LV.
(5) Attach the bonding strap (8) with the screw (6), the washer (7) and the nut (9) to the fairing (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Make sure that the guide-pin (5) at the tail cone (11) aligns with the mating hole of the fairing (1).
(7) Assemble the fairing (1) to the tail cone (11) and lock the five stud nuts (2).
D. Do the operational test of the tail navigation-light 15LA (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-00-710-001) and the tail cone strobe-light 19LV (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-00-710-002).

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Fill the clearance between the fairing (1) and the tail cone (11) with the Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) .
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
