A. Safety Precautions
   (1) In the cockpit, on panel 25VU:
  • Make sure that the STROBE switch is in the OFF position.
  • Make sure that the NAV & LOGO switch is in the OFF position.
  • Make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is in the OFF position.
  • Make sure there is a warning notice to tell persons not to operate the navigation lights or the strobe lights.
  • Make sure there is a warning notice to tell persons not to operate the APU.

C. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position in the APU tail-cone-exhaust area.
   (2) Make sure that you removed the exhaust access-fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-18-000-001) or, as an alternative, the tail navigation light (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-15-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 33-41-16-910-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the mating surfaces.
   (4) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the screws (2) and (7) and the washers (3) and (6).

B. Installation of the Tail Navigation-Light Transformer
   (1) Install the transformer plate (5) with the transformer in the APU exhaust access-fairing.
   (2) Install the screw (2) and the washer (3) for bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (3) Install the screws (7) and the washers (6).
   (4) Tighten the screws (2) and (7).
   (5) Apply Silicone Sealant-Firewall High Temp. - (Material No.06BHG1) to the screws (2) and (7) and the washers (3) and (6).
   (6) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
   (7) Connect the electrical connectors (1) and (4).

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the APU exhaust access-fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-18-400-001) or, as an alternative, the tail navigation light (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-15-400-001).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (1) Do the operational test of the tail navigation lights (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-00-710-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-00-710-002).
