Installation of the Tail Navigation Light
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE CIRCUITS IN MAINTENANCE ARE ISOLATED BEFORE YOU SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT. UNWANTED ELECTRICAL POWER CAN BE DANGEROUS.

MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) In the cockpit, on panel 25VU:

- Make sure that the STROBE switch is in the OFF position.
- Make sure that the NAV & LOGO switch is in the OFF position.
- Make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is in the OFF position.
- Make sure there is a warning notice to tell persons not to operate the navigation lights or the strobe lights.
- Make sure there is a warning notice to tell persons not to operate the APU.
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the APU tail-cone-exhaust area.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the APU tail-cone-exhaust area.
Subtask 33-41-15-910-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that a strobe-light is installed in the tail navigation light (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-13-400-001).
Subtask 33-41-15-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that a strobe-light is installed in the tail navigation light (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-13-400-001).
B. Installation of the Tail Navigation Light
(1) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors (5) and (6).
(2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Connect the electrical connectors (5) and (6) to the tail navigation light (3).
(4) Put the tail navigation light (3) in position on the APU exhaust access-fairing (4).
(5) Install the screws (1) and the washers (2).
(6) Tighten the screws (1).
(7) Clean the outer side of the tail navigation light (3) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(8) Apply Silicone Sealant-Firewall High Temp. - (Material No.06BHG1) to all sides of the mating flange of the tail navigation light (3), the washers (2) and the screws (1).
Subtask 33-41-15-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors (5) and (6).
(2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Connect the electrical connectors (5) and (6) to the tail navigation light (3).
(4) Put the tail navigation light (3) in position on the APU exhaust access-fairing (4).
(5) Install the screws (1) and the washers (2).
(6) Tighten the screws (1).
(7) Clean the outer side of the tail navigation light (3) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(8) Apply Silicone Sealant-Firewall High Temp. - (Material No.06BHG1) to all sides of the mating flange of the tail navigation light (3), the washers (2) and the screws (1).
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Test
(1) Do the operational test of the tail navigation lights (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-00-710-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-00-710-002).
5. Close-up(1) Do the operational test of the tail navigation lights (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-00-710-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-00-710-002).

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
