WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE STROBE LIGHTS FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES AFTER OPERATION. THE STROBE LIGHT WILL STILL BE HOT.

WARNING: WEAR GLASSES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE LIGHT. THE LAMP IS PRESSURIZED AND AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) In the cockpit, on panel 25VU:

Make sure that the STROBE switch is in the OFF position.
Make sure that the NAV & LOGO switch is in the OFF position.
Make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is in the OFF position.
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the navigation lights or the strobe lights.
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the APU.

C. Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the APU tail-cone-exhaust area.

A. Removal of the Rear Navigation and Strobe Light Assembly

WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE THE STROBE LIGHT FOR AT LEAST TEN MINUTES AFTER YOU DE-ENERGIZE THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS. THE HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL CURRENT IN THE CAPACITOR OF THE STROBE LIGHT IS DANGEROUS.

(1) Hold the rear navigation and strobe light assembly (3).
(2) Remove the screws (1) and washers (2).
(3) Remove the rear navigation and strobe light assembly (3) from the APU exhaust access-fairing (4).
(4) Disconnect the electrical connectors (5) and (6) from the rear navigation and strobe light-assembly (3).
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
