A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
NOTE: The table that follows shows you all circuit breakers for the ballast units. If you open all the circuit breakers, the cabin becomes dark.

C. Get Access
   (1) For the aisle light unit:
     (a) Put the STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT) below the related ceiling panel.
     (b) Release the quick-release fasteners (4) and remove the light cover (5).
   (2) For the window light unit:
     (a) Remove the related cove light panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-48-000-001).
   (3) For the entrance light unit:
     (a) Put the STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT) below the related ceiling panel.
     (b) Remove the related ceiling panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-000-002).
4. Procedure
Subtask 33-21-11-960-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Replacement of the Fluorescent Tube
NOTE: The procedure is the same for all fluorescent tubes in the aisle light strips, window light strips and entrance lights (if installed).
   (1) Use GLOVES - COTTON, LINT-FREE, CLEAN for the replacement of the fluorescent tube (1).
CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS. THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.
   (2) Hold the fluorescent tube (1) and push the button (2) at the end of the lampholder (3) to remove the fluorescent tube (1).
   (3) Remove and discard the fluorescent tube (1).
   (4) Install the new fluorescent tube (1) into the lampholder (3). Make sure that you hear a click from each holder when you push the fluorescent tube (1) into the lampholder (3).

   (1) Do this test of the entrance-Lights, window-lights and ceiling-lights:

On Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH:
On FAP 120RH:
  • Set the 'LIGHT' page.
  • All possible cabin lighting zones are shown.
  • Push the ENTRY/BRT button.
  • The ENTRY/BRT indication on the related button comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The related entrance light comes on.

On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the ENTRY/DIM1 button.
  • The ENTRY/DIM1 indication on the related button comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The related entrance light intensity decreases.

On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the ENTRY/DIM2 button.
  • The ENTRY/DIM2 indication on the related button comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The related entrance light intensity decreases again.

On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the ENTRY/DIM2 button again.
  • The ENTRY/DIM2 indication on the related button goes off.

In the cabin:
  • The related entrance light goes off.
2.For the window or ceiling lighting:

On FAP 120RH:
On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the BRT button.
  • The BRT indication on the related button comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The related window or ceiling light comes on.

On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the DIM1 button.
  • The DIM1 indication on the related button comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The related window or ceiling light intensity decreases.

On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the DIM2 button.
  • The DIM2 indication on the related button comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The related window or ceiling light intensity decreases again.

On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the DIM2 button again.
  • The DIM2 indication on the related button goes off.

In the cabin:
  • The related window or ceiling light goes off.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the related panel:
     (a) For the aisle light unit:
       1 Put the STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT) under related ceiling panel.
       2 Install the light cover (5) with the quick-release fasteners (4).
     (b) For the window light unit:
       1 Install the related cove light panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-48-400-001).
     (c) For the entrance light unit:
       1 Put the STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT) below the related ceiling panel.
       2 Install the related ceiling panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-400-002).
   (3) Remove the STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT).

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
