3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-33-17-941-051-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On the panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position.
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) On the panel 110VU, make sure that the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle is folded into the center console.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized from the external power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the MLG doors are opened (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (3) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is on the applicable main gear door actuator.

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-33-17-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Torque Tube Assembly
   (1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Make sure that the surfaces of the flange (13) and the brackets (14) and (18) are in the correct condition.
   (3) Put the torque tube assembly (21) in position.
   (4) At view E:
     (a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) :
  • To the shanks and threads of the bolts (20)
  • Below the heads of the bolts (20)
  • To the threads of the nuts (19).
     (b) Install the bolts (20) and the nuts (19).
     (c) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) on the bolts (20) and the nuts (19).
   (5) At view F:
     (a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) :
  • To the shanks and threads of the bolts (12)
  • Below the heads of the bolts (12)
  • To the threads of the nuts (15).
     (b) Install the bolts (12) and the nuts (15).
     (c) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) on the bolts (12) and the nuts (15).
   (6) At views C and D:
     (a) Put the control rods (5) and (16) in postion.
     (b) Install the bushes (8), the bolts (7), the washers (9) and the castellated nuts (10).
     (c) Safety the castellated nuts (10) with the new AIPC 32-33-03-01-170 COTTER PINS (11) or AIPC 32-33-83-01-020 COTTER PINS (11).

B. Installation of the Rigging Pins (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-16-000-001)
   (1) For the pulley at frame 47:
   (2) For the MLG free-fall extension cables:

C. Install the MLG Free-Fall Extension Cables
   (1) Put the free-fall extension cables (1) and (2) in position at the torque tube assembly (21).
   (2) Connect each cable to its related cable with the turnbuckles (4).
   (3) Temporarily attach the locking pins (3).
   (4) Adjust the free-fall extension cables that were loosened (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-003).
   (5) Do a cable tension check on the free-fall extension cables that were loosened (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-200-001).

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (1) Make sure that all the rigging pins are removed.
   (2) Remove the ground safety locks and close the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (3) Do a functional check of the free-fall extension system. (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-720-001)

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the cabin floor panels 241LF, 242LF and 242FF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-400-002).
   (3) Install the cabin floor covering that was removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-400-001).
   (4) Install the passenger seats that were removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-21-41-400-001).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
   (6) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. De-energize the ground service network
