TASK 32-31-00-710-002-A-01
Operational Test of the Landing Gear Doors (Without False Targets)

WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
1. Reason for the Job
NOTE: This task gives an alternative method to do an operational test of the landing gear doors. This method uses the MCDU to simulate flight. Also, it is not necessary to install false targets on the weight on wheels proximity-sensors.
NOTE: This task is not applicable if LGCIU 1 and LGCIU 2 are Crane type part number 80-178-xx. If none or only one LGCIU is a Crane type, this task can be used.
NOTE: LGCIU 1 must be an Ultra type part number 664700500A4x. If LGCIU 1 is a Crane type and LGCIU 2 an Ultra type, you must interchange them.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR DOORS ARE CLEAR.
A. Operational Test of the Landing Gear Doors
ACTION
RESULT
1.Open the circuit breakers:
  • 58GA LGCIU/SYS1/BAT SPLY
  • 59GA LGCIU/SYS2/BAT SPLY.

2.Make sure that the circuit breakers that follow are closed:
  • 1GA LGCIU/SYS1
  • 52GA LGCIU/SYS1/GND SPLY
This will set the LGCIU1 to on.
3.Open the circuit breaker 2GA/LGCIU/SYS2 for three seconds then close it.
This puts the LGCIU1 in control of the landing gear.
4.Get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/L/G page on the MCDU (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-009).
The MCDU shows the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/L/G page.
5.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU:
  • push the line key adjacent to the <LGCIU 1 indication.
  • the applicable LGCIU menu page comes into view.
  • push the NEXT PAGE P/BSW.
  • the applicable LGCIU menu page 2 comes into view.
  • push the line key adjacent to the <LANDING GEAR SIMULATION indication.
  • the LANDING GEAR SIMULATION page comes into view.
  • push the line key adjacent to the <NOSE + LH + RH indication.
  • the NOSE + LH + RH simulation page comes into view.
  • push the line key adjacent to the <EXTENDED indication.
  • the applicable < goes off.
6.On the panel 400VU:
On the panel 402VU:
  • set the landing gear control lever 6GA to the UP position.
NOTE: When UP is selected, the control of the landing gear is moved to the LGCIU2. The LGCIU1 stays in the SIMULATION MODE.
  • the landing gear unlock indicators show UNLK (red)
  • on the aircraft, the landing gear doors open correctly.
NOTE: If you do not set the landing gear control lever to the DOWN position in 30 seconds:
  • the ECAM message L/G GEAR NOT UPLOCKED will be shown. You can ignore this message (or clear it with the ECAM control panel CLEAR button) and do the subsequent steps.
7.On the panel 400VU:
  • set the landing gear control lever to the DOWN position.
On the aircraft:
  • the landing gear doors close correctly.
8.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU:
  • push the line key adjacent to the <RETURN indication.
  • the LANDING GEAR SIMULATION page comes into view.
9.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU:
  • push the line key adjacent to the <RETURN indication 3 times.
  • set the BRT switch to off.
  • you exit the simulation mode.

  • the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/L/G page comes into view.
10.Close the circuit breakers:
  • 58GA LGCIU/SYS1/BAT SPLY
