A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.

   (1) If you did not open the LGCIU circuit breakers, make sure that the electrical circuits are de-energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

   (1) Make sure that the applicable MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is adjacent to the applicable MLG.
   (3) Make sure that the applicable MLG wheels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-000-006).
   (4) Make sure that the applicable tachometers are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-57-000-001).

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the applicable MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is adjacent to the applicable MLG.
   (3) Make sure that the applicable MLG wheels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-000-006).
   (4) Make sure that the applicable brake fan assemblies are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-48-51-000-005).
   (5) Make sure that the applicable tachometers are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-57-000-001).
4. Procedure
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE INSTALLATION AND ROUTING OF ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES AGREE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ELECTRICAL STANDARD PRACTICES MANUAL.
Subtask 32-11-43-420-076-A
A. Preparation for Installation
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Make sure that the 1M and 2M harnesses are in correct condition ESPM 203300.

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE IDENTIFIED WITH THEIR FIN NO. TO CORRECTLY CONNECT EACH PLUG TO ITS RELATED RECEPTACLE. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
B. Installation of the 1M and 2M Harnesses on the MLG Axle
NOTE: Make sure that there are no kinks in the 1M and 2M harnesses.
   (1) Identify the positions of the three cableforms at the end of each harness.
   (2) If necessary, attach a STRING - DRAW to each applicable cableform at the cable access holes.
   (3) Pull the draw strings through the axle, one at a time, to put the cableforms in position. Remove the draw strings.
NOTE: Make sure that there are no kinks in the cableforms when they are put in position.
   (4) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (5) For the 1M harness:
     (a) Connect the electrical plug (3) to the 1M harness electrical connector (2).
   (6) For the 2M harness:
     (a) Make sure that the 2M harness is not caught between the cable clamp (6) and the axle.
     (b) Put the cable clamp (6) in position and install with the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (c) Safety the bolts (4) together with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
     (d) Connect the electrical connector (7) to the 2M harness electrical connector (8).
   (7) Do the steps that follow:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength Low viscosity - (Material No.05BAB1) to the backshells of all the electrical connectors that you removed.
     (b) Make a mark on the backshells of all the electrical connectors that you removed with red Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative External Structure (Material No.04JMD3) .
     (c) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to all the bolts, screws and washers you installed.

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable tachometers (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-57-400-001).
   (3) Install the applicable MLG wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-400-006).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Close the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable tachometers (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-57-400-001).
   (3) Install the applicable brake fan assemblies (Ref. AMM TASK 32-48-51-400-005).
   (4) Install the applicable MLG wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-400-006).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
   (6) Close the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).

F. Functional Test
CAUTION: DURING THE FUNCTIONAL TEST OF THE TACHOMETERS, MAKE SURE THAT THE OPERATION OF THE BRAKE PISTONS IS CORRECT AND AGREES WITH EACH STEP GIVEN IN THIS TEST: INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE BRAKE PISTONS CAN BE CAUSED BY A BAD OR A CROSSED CONNECTION OF THE TACHOMETERS DURING INSTALLATION, AND CAN CAUSE UNSATISFACTORY BRAKING AND/OR A TIRE BURST DURING AIRCRAFT OPERATION.
   (1) Do a functional test of the tachometers (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-720-002).

   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
