Removal of the Tachometer

3. Job Set-up

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On the panel 400VU:
  • make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.

Subtask 32-42-57-010-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Get Access
   (1) Loosen the nut (15), then hold the hubcap (17) and remove the clamp (16). Carefully remove the hubcap (17) laterally.
   (2) Remove and discard the cotter pins (3).
   (3) Remove the nuts (2), the washers (1) and the screws (12).
     (a) Make sure that the nut (6) does not move from its related position to the axle (5).
   (4) Remove the mounting sleeve (11).
   (5) Disconnect the connectors in the axle (5) from the tachometer (7).
   (6) Remove the circlip (23), the washer (22), the spring (21) and the circlip (19).
NOTE: The cable kit from harness 2M contains the circlips (19) and (23), the spring (21) and the washer (22).
   (7) Remove the connector (20) from the mounting sleeve (11).
   (8) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (9) Carefully put the electrical connector (20) and connectors of tachometer into the axle.

C. Get Access
   (1) Remove the applicable brake fan assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 32-48-51-000-005).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-42-57-020-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Tachometer from the Mounting Sleeve
   (1) Remove the screws (14) and the washers (13). Then remove the tachometer (7) and the drive (9) together from the mounting sleeve (11).
   (2) Remove the nuts (8) and the screws (10), then remove the drive (9) from the tachometer (7).

A. Removal of the Tachometer from the Mounting Sleeve
NOTE: The tachometer and mounting sleeve are removed from the landing gear during the Get Access procedure.
   (1) Remove the screws (7) and the washers (6). Then remove the tachometer (1) and the drive (3) together from the mounting sleeve (5).
   (2) Remove the nuts (2) and the screws (4), then remove the drive (3) from the tachometer (1).
