Servicing of the Rain Repellent System
To purge the rain repellent system for a long period aircraft storage, you can do this procedure as an alternative to (Ref. TASK 30-45-00-600-80200).

Servicing of the Rain Repellent System
WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY THE RAIN REPELLENT FLUID ON A DRY SURFACE.
1. Reason for the JobTo purge the rain repellent system for a long period aircraft storage, you can do this procedure as an alternative to (Ref. TASK 30-45-00-600-80200).

A. Cleaning Instructions.
Make sure that the fluid does not stay on the aircraft furnishing.
If the fluid gets on the aircraft furnishings, clean with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .

C. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. On the overhead control and indicating panel 21VU and overhead control and indicating panel 22VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the rain repellent pushbutton switches.
4. ProcedureSubtask 30-45-00-941-060-A
A. Preparation
(1) Connect a HOSE - DRAIN to the drain valve (4) of the rain repellent fluid gage assembly (5).
(2) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
Subtask 30-45-00-020-052-A (1) Connect a HOSE - DRAIN to the drain valve (4) of the rain repellent fluid gage assembly (5).
(2) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
B. Removal of the Rain Repellent Fluid Can
(1) Remove the clamp (2).
(2) Loosen and remove the can (1).
(3) Remove and discard the seal (3).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 30-45-00-870-052-A (1) Remove the clamp (2).
(2) Loosen and remove the can (1).
(3) Remove and discard the seal (3).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
C. Depressurization of the System
(1) Push the pushbutton switch (6) to depressurize the system.
(2) Make sure that no more rain repellent fluid comes out from the hose end.
Subtask 30-45-00-020-053-A (1) Push the pushbutton switch (6) to depressurize the system.
(2) Make sure that no more rain repellent fluid comes out from the hose end.
D. Removal of the Rain-Repellent Solenoid Valve and Check Valve
(1) Remove the rain-repellent solenoid valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-41-000-001).
(2) Disassemble each part of the rain-repellent solenoid valve.
(a) For the disassembly instructions of the rain-repellent solenoid valve refer toCMM 304511 .
(3) Immerse each part (not the equipped coil) in Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(4) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED to remove all contamination from each part.
(5) Clean each part with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(6) Dry each part with a AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.
(7) Assemble each part of the rain-repellent solenoid valve.
(8) Remove the rain-repellent check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-46-000-001).
(9) Immerse the rain-repellent check valve in Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(10) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED to remove all contamination from the rain-repellent check valve.
(11) Clean the rain-repellent check valve with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(12) Dry each part with a AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.
Subtask 30-45-00-680-050-A (1) Remove the rain-repellent solenoid valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-41-000-001).
(2) Disassemble each part of the rain-repellent solenoid valve.
(a) For the disassembly instructions of the rain-repellent solenoid valve refer to
(3) Immerse each part (not the equipped coil) in Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(4) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED to remove all contamination from each part.
(5) Clean each part with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(6) Dry each part with a AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.
(7) Assemble each part of the rain-repellent solenoid valve.
(8) Remove the rain-repellent check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-46-000-001).
(9) Immerse the rain-repellent check valve in Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(10) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED to remove all contamination from the rain-repellent check valve.
(11) Clean the rain-repellent check valve with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(12) Dry each part with a AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.
E. Removal of the Rain Repellent Fluid
(1) Connect a hose of the 98F30403000000 RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM to the disconnected line ends of the solenoid valves in place of the PLUG - BLANKING.
(2) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
(3) Connect a pressure source to the top part of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5).
(4) Pressurize the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5) to between 29 and 43.50 psi (2 and 3 bars).
(6) Remove the hose from the drain valve (4).
(7) Remove the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-43-000-001).
(8) Flush the inner part of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) or an equivalent cleaning agent and dry with compressed air CMM 304511 and CMM 304546.
(9) Put the funnel of the 98F30403000000 RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM in place of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5), at the top part of the disconnected line ends.
(10) Flush the inner part of the lines with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) or an equivalent cleaning agent and dry with compressed air.
(11) Disconnect the hose from the disconnected line ends of the solenoid valves.
(12) Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(13) Remove the blanking plug (9) from the top part of the blowout reservoir (8).
(14) Connect a pressure source to the top part of the blowout reservoir (8).
(15) Pressurize the blowout reservoir (8) to 4.38 psi (0.30 bar) with 98F30403000000 RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM.
(16) Make sure that air goes out from the nozzles (7).
(18) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(19) Remove all the parts of the 98F30403000000 RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM.
(20) Install the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-43-400-001).
Subtask 30-45-00-420-052-A (1) Connect a hose of the 98F30403000000 RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM to the disconnected line ends of the solenoid valves in place of the PLUG - BLANKING.
(2) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
(3) Connect a pressure source to the top part of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5).
(4) Pressurize the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5) to between 29 and 43.50 psi (2 and 3 bars).
NOTE: Pressurize the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5) the time necessary to remove the fluid remaining in the system.
(5) Disconnect the pressure source from the top part of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5). (6) Remove the hose from the drain valve (4).
(7) Remove the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-43-000-001).
(8) Flush the inner part of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) or an equivalent cleaning agent and dry with compressed air CMM 304511 and CMM 304546.
(9) Put the funnel of the 98F30403000000 RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM in place of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5), at the top part of the disconnected line ends.
(10) Flush the inner part of the lines with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) or an equivalent cleaning agent and dry with compressed air.
(11) Disconnect the hose from the disconnected line ends of the solenoid valves.
(12) Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(13) Remove the blanking plug (9) from the top part of the blowout reservoir (8).
(14) Connect a pressure source to the top part of the blowout reservoir (8).
(15) Pressurize the blowout reservoir (8) to 4.38 psi (0.30 bar) with 98F30403000000 RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM.
(16) Make sure that air goes out from the nozzles (7).
NOTE: You can use water with soap.
(17) Disconnect the pressure source from the blowout reservoir (8). (18) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(19) Remove all the parts of the 98F30403000000 RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM.
(20) Install the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-43-400-001).
F. Installation of the Rain Repellent Solenoid Valves and Check Valves
(1) Install the check valves (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-46-400-001).
(2) Install the solenoid valves (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-41-400-001).
5. Close-up(1) Install the check valves (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-46-400-001).
(2) Install the solenoid valves (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-41-400-001).

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
