Removal of the Rain-Repellent Solenoid Valve

- GET MEDICAL AID.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
NOTE: If there is leakage of FORALKYL 2211, you can smell a pine odor.

A. Cleaning Instructions
(1) Make sure that the fluid does not stay on the aircraft furnishings.
If the fluid gets on the aircraft furnishings, clean with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .

C. Preparation
(1) Remove the protective cap from the drain valve.
(2) Connect a HOSE - PLASTIC to the drain valve of the rain-repellent fluid gage assy.
(3) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
Subtask 30-45-41-869-050-A (1) Remove the protective cap from the drain valve.
(2) Connect a HOSE - PLASTIC to the drain valve of the rain-repellent fluid gage assy.
(3) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
D. Depressurization of the System
(2) Disconnect the hose from the drain valve.
(3) Install the protective cap on the drain valve.
Subtask 30-45-41-020-054-A Subtask 30-45-41-010-050-A CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE HOSE OUTLET IS IN THE CONTAINER.
(1) Push the purge pushbutton of the fluid gage to release the pressure from the system. (2) Disconnect the hose from the drain valve.
(3) Install the protective cap on the drain valve.
F. Get Access
(1) Loosen the quarter-turn fasterners.
(2) Remove the panel 211LW.
Subtask 30-45-41-020-055-A (1) Loosen the quarter-turn fasterners.
(2) Remove the panel 211LW.
G. Disconnect the Windshield Connector
(1) FOR FIN 3DB1
(a) Disconnect the connector 3DG1-A from the left windshield 3DG1.
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) FOR FIN 3DB2
(a) Disconnect the connector 3DG2-A from the right windshield 3DG2.
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
4. Procedure(1) FOR FIN 3DB1
(a) Disconnect the connector 3DG1-A from the left windshield 3DG1.
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) FOR FIN 3DB2
(a) Disconnect the connector 3DG2-A from the right windshield 3DG2.
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
Subtask 30-45-41-020-056-A
A. Removal of the Rain-Repellent Solenoid Valve
(1) Disconnect the line (8) from the elbow coupling (5).
(2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the valve (2).
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Loosen the nut (6).
(6) Remove the elbow coupling (5) with the nut (6) from the valve (2).
(7) Remove the nut (6) from the elbow coupling (5).
(8) Remove the O-ring (7) and discard it.
(9) Disconnect the valve (2) from the mounting base (1) of the spray nozzle.
(10) Remove the valve (2).
(11) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(1) Disconnect the line (8) from the elbow coupling (5).
(2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the valve (2).
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Loosen the nut (6).
(6) Remove the elbow coupling (5) with the nut (6) from the valve (2).
(7) Remove the nut (6) from the elbow coupling (5).
(8) Remove the O-ring (7) and discard it.
(9) Disconnect the valve (2) from the mounting base (1) of the spray nozzle.
(10) Remove the valve (2).
(11) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(12) Remove and discard the lockwire from the union (3) of the valve (2).
