Servicing of the Rain Repellent Fluid Can
WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DEPRESSURIZE THE RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE RAIN REPELLENT FLUID-CAN.
RAIN REPELLENT FLUID CAN COME OUT SUDDENLY IF YOU REMOVE THE FLUID CAN WITH THE SYSTEM PRESSURIZED.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
NOTE: If there is leakage of FORALKYL 2211, you can smell a pine odor.

Make sure that the fluid does not stay on the aircraft furnishing.
If the fluid gets on the aircraft furnishings, clean with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .

C. Open the access door of the rain-repellent fluid can.

E. On the overhead control and indicating panel 21VU and overhead control and indicating panel 22VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the rain-repellent pushbutton switches.
4. ProcedureSubtask 30-45-00-941-053-A
A. Preparation
(1) Connect a HOSE - DRAIN to the drain valve (5) of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(2) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).

(2) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
B. Depressurisation of the System
Subtask 30-45-00-020-050-A CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE HOSE OUTLET IS IN THE CONTAINER.
(1) Push the pushbutton (6) of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4) to depressurize the system. C. Removal of the Rain-Repellent Fluid Can
(1) Remove the clamp (2).
(2) Remove the can (1).
(3) Remove the seal (3) and discard it.
(4) Put blanking plugs on the open ports.
Subtask 30-45-00-420-050-A (1) Remove the clamp (2).
(2) Remove the can (1).
(3) Remove the seal (3) and discard it.
(4) Put blanking plugs on the open ports.
D. Installation of the New Rain-Repellent Fluid Can
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the new can (1) and the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4) receptacle.
(4) Install a new AIPC 30-45-01-06-027 SEAL (3) or AIPC 30-45-81-06-060 SEAL (3) into the inlet port of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(5) Install the can (1) on its receptacle.
(7) Torquing of the clamp (2)
Subtask 30-45-00-210-052-A (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the new can (1) and the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4) receptacle.
(4) Install a new AIPC 30-45-01-06-027 SEAL (3) or AIPC 30-45-81-06-060 SEAL (3) into the inlet port of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(5) Install the can (1) on its receptacle.
NOTE: The instructions for assembly are given on the plate installed adjacent to the can.
(6) Put the clamp (2) in the correct position on the can (1). (7) Torquing of the clamp (2)
CAUTION:
DO NOT TORQUE THE RETAINING COLLAR SCREW OF THE CLAMP TO MORE THAN ITS MAXIMUM TORQUE VALUE OF 0.2 M.DAN (17.70 LBF.IN). IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CAN.
(a) Do not torque the retaining collar screw of the clamp (2) more than 0.2 m.daN (17.70 lbf.in). E. Inspection/Check
(2) Make sure that the fluid level is correct and increases to the correct pressure.
(3) Make sure that there are no leaks.
Subtask 30-45-00-942-053-A CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE HOSE OUTLET IS IN THE CONTAINER.
(1) Push the pushbutton (6) of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4). (2) Make sure that the fluid level is correct and increases to the correct pressure.
(3) Make sure that there are no leaks.
F. Disconnect the hose from the drain valve and remove the container from the aircraft.

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

B. Close Access
(1) Close the access door of the rain-repellent fluid can.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
