Removal of the Anti-Ice Duct
WARNING:

- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the flap and slat control lever, on panel 114VU, install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION.
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in positions that follow, before you start the work on the ice protection system:

(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in positions that follow, before you start the work on the ice protection system:
- On the high-pressure ground-power connections, to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system
- In the cockpit, to tell persons not to operate the engines or the APU control switches
- On panel 30VU, to tell persons not to pressurize the bleed-air system
- On panel 114VU, to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.

A. Removal of the Anti-Ice Ducts
(4) To remove the duct (24):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (1) and then remove the insulation muff (1).
(b) Remove the nut (25), the washer (26) and the screw (28), to disconnect the ends of the bonding straps (27) and (23).
(c) Hold the duct (24) and remove the clamp (22).
(d) Turn the duct (24) axially in relation to the anti-ice valve and carefully remove it from the duct (3).
(e) Remove and discard the seal (2).
(5) To remove the duct (3):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (9) and then remove the insulation muff (9).
(b) Remove the nut (13), the washers (14) and (17) and the screw (18) to disconnect the end of the bonding strap (16).
(c) Remove the nut (15), the washer (19), the screw (21) and the bonding strap (20).
(d) Remove the nut (12), the bolt (10) and the cradle (4).
(e) Remove the bolts (5) and (11), the washers (6) and the cradle (7).
(f) Move the blast tube (8) inboard, to the approximate center of the duct (3).
(g) Carefully remove the duct (3) together with the blast tube (8) from the duct (30).
(h) Remove and discard the seal (29).
(i) Remove the blast tube (8) from the duct (3).
(6) To remove the duct (30):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (40) and then remove the insulation muff (40).
(b) Remove the nut (32), the washer (33) and the screw (35), to disconnect the end of the bonding strap (34).
(c) Remove the nut (36), the washer (37), the screw (39) and the bonding strap (38).
(d) To remove the lower part of the intermediate rib:
(f) Remove and discard the seal (31).
(7) To remove the duct (46):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (76) and then remove the insulation muff (76).
(b) Remove the nut (48), the washer (45) and the screw (44), to disconnect the end of the bonding strap (34).
(c) Remove the nut (53), the bolt (50) and the cradle (52).
(d) Remove the bolts (41) and (51), the washers (42) and the cradle (43).
(e) Move the blast tube (49) inboard.
(f) Hold the duct (46) and remove the clamp (47) and then the duct (46).
(8) To remove the duct (77):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wires from the insulation muffs (76) and (82) and then remove the insulation muffs (76) and (82).
(b) Remove the nut (83), the washer (84) and the screw (78), to disconnect the ends of the bonding straps (79) and (80).
(c) Hold the duct (77) and remove the clamp (47).
(d) Turn the duct (77) axially in relation to the duct (46) and carefully remove it from the duct box (87).
(e) Remove and discard the seal (81).
(9) To remove the duct box (87):
(b) Remove the nut (90), the washer (91), the screw (93) and the bonding strap (92).
(d) Hold the duct box (87) and remove the bolts (85) and (89) and the washers (86) and (88).
(e) Remove the duct box (87).
NOTE: Put CAP - BLANKING on the ends of the ducts, immediately after you remove them.
(1) If you use the APU to energize the aircraft electrical circuits, stop the APU:- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
(2) Make sure that you wait for a minimum of 5 minutes until there is no pressure in the bleed-air duct system.WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Make sure that the temperature of the bleed-air duct system is in the ambient condition.(4) To remove the duct (24):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (1) and then remove the insulation muff (1).
(b) Remove the nut (25), the washer (26) and the screw (28), to disconnect the ends of the bonding straps (27) and (23).
(c) Hold the duct (24) and remove the clamp (22).
(d) Turn the duct (24) axially in relation to the anti-ice valve and carefully remove it from the duct (3).
(e) Remove and discard the seal (2).
(5) To remove the duct (3):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (9) and then remove the insulation muff (9).
(b) Remove the nut (13), the washers (14) and (17) and the screw (18) to disconnect the end of the bonding strap (16).
(c) Remove the nut (15), the washer (19), the screw (21) and the bonding strap (20).
(d) Remove the nut (12), the bolt (10) and the cradle (4).
(e) Remove the bolts (5) and (11), the washers (6) and the cradle (7).
(f) Move the blast tube (8) inboard, to the approximate center of the duct (3).
(g) Carefully remove the duct (3) together with the blast tube (8) from the duct (30).
(h) Remove and discard the seal (29).
(i) Remove the blast tube (8) from the duct (3).
(6) To remove the duct (30):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (40) and then remove the insulation muff (40).
(b) Remove the nut (32), the washer (33) and the screw (35), to disconnect the end of the bonding strap (34).
(c) Remove the nut (36), the washer (37), the screw (39) and the bonding strap (38).
(d) To remove the lower part of the intermediate rib:
- Remove the nuts (71), (58) and (66), the bolts (72), (69) and (70) and the bracket (73).
- Remove the nuts (67), the support washer (56), the bolts (57) and the top bracket (55).
- Remove the nuts (63), the bolts (60), the lower bracket (59) and the support bracket (65).
- Remove the nuts (61) and (68), the bolts (64) and (74) and the center rib (75) from the support ribs (54) and (62).
(f) Remove and discard the seal (31).
(7) To remove the duct (46):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (76) and then remove the insulation muff (76).
(b) Remove the nut (48), the washer (45) and the screw (44), to disconnect the end of the bonding strap (34).
(c) Remove the nut (53), the bolt (50) and the cradle (52).
(d) Remove the bolts (41) and (51), the washers (42) and the cradle (43).
(e) Move the blast tube (49) inboard.
(f) Hold the duct (46) and remove the clamp (47) and then the duct (46).
(8) To remove the duct (77):
(a) Remove and discard the braided wires from the insulation muffs (76) and (82) and then remove the insulation muffs (76) and (82).
(b) Remove the nut (83), the washer (84) and the screw (78), to disconnect the ends of the bonding straps (79) and (80).
(c) Hold the duct (77) and remove the clamp (47).
(d) Turn the duct (77) axially in relation to the duct (46) and carefully remove it from the duct box (87).
(e) Remove and discard the seal (81).
(9) To remove the duct box (87):
NOTE: It is necessary to remove the duct (77) before you remove the duct box (87).
(a) Remove the telescopic duct (Ref. AMM TASK 30-11-41-000-001). (b) Remove the nut (90), the washer (91), the screw (93) and the bonding strap (92).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(c) Remove and discard the lockwire from the bolts (85) and (89). (d) Hold the duct box (87) and remove the bolts (85) and (89) and the washers (86) and (88).
(e) Remove the duct box (87).
Anti-Ice Duct - Ribs 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13
