Removal of the Telescopic Duct
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the flap and slat control lever, on panel 114VU, install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION.
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in positions that follow, before you start the work on the ice protection system:

(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in positions that follow, before you start the work on the ice protection system:
- On the high-pressure ground-power connections, to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system
- In the cockpit, to tell persons not to operate the engines or APU control switches
- On panel 30VU, to tell persons not to pressurize the bleed-air system
- On panel 114VU, to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.

E. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable zone 522(622).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels:

(2) Remove the applicable access panels:
- for the left wing, remove 522EB
- for the right wing, remove 622EB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-012).
Subtask 30-11-41-020-050-B
A. Removal of the Telescopic Duct
(1) If you use the APU to energize the aircraft electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(4) Remove the clamp (3) and manually retract the telescopic duct.
(5) Put the CAP - BLANKING on the open ends of the telescopic duct and the slat duct.
(6) Hold the telescopic duct in the retracted position with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(7) Hold the telescopic duct assembly and remove the clamp (1).
(8) Put blanking caps on the open ends of the telescopic duct and the D-nose duct.
(9) To remove the telescopic duct from the D-nose, do these steps:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (21). Remove the slotted nuts (22) and the washers (23).
(b) Remove the bolts (18) and the washers (19).
(c) Remove the telescopic duct from the D-nose.
(10) If you are to install a new telescopic duct, do these steps:
(a) Release the tab washers (16).
(b) Remove the bolts (17). Remove and discard the tabwashers (16).
(c) Remove the half clamps (14) and (15).
(d) Keep the half clamps (14) and (15) together so you can install them on the replacement duct.
(1) If you use the APU to energize the aircraft electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
(2) Make sure that you wait for a minimum of 5 minutes until there is no pressure in the bleed-air duct system.WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Make sure that the temperature of the bleed-air duct system is in the ambient condition.(4) Remove the clamp (3) and manually retract the telescopic duct.
(5) Put the CAP - BLANKING on the open ends of the telescopic duct and the slat duct.
(6) Hold the telescopic duct in the retracted position with

(8) Put blanking caps on the open ends of the telescopic duct and the D-nose duct.
(9) To remove the telescopic duct from the D-nose, do these steps:
