Removal of the Reservoir Pressurization Tubes in the Pylon
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(2) Depressurize the hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Open access doors 197CB, 197EB and 198CB:
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems:
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic reservoirs.
Subtask 29-14-49-941-056-A (1) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(2) Depressurize the hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Open access doors 197CB, 197EB and 198CB:
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems:
- On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system
- On the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system
- On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic reservoirs.
B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
Subtask 29-14-49-010-061-A (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF legend on).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Put the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION in position on the flap/slat control lever.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 29-14-49-010-062-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). E. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

F. Removal of the Components
(1) Remove the rear pylon fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-804):
(a) For the left pylon: 475AL.
(2) Disconnection of the Convoluted Bleed Hose
(a) Disconnect the convoluted bleed hose (23) from the tube (2).
(b) Remove the nut (24), washer (25) and bolt (26).
(c) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(d) Remove the thermal blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-61-000-802).
(e) Remove the bolts (22) and washers (21) from the tube (2).
Subtask 29-14-49-010-065-A (1) Remove the rear pylon fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-804):
(a) For the left pylon: 475AL.
(2) Disconnection of the Convoluted Bleed Hose
(a) Disconnect the convoluted bleed hose (23) from the tube (2).
(b) Remove the nut (24), washer (25) and bolt (26).
(c) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(d) Remove the thermal blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-61-000-802).
(e) Remove the bolts (22) and washers (21) from the tube (2).
G. Close Access
(1) Close the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-806):

H. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the left pylon.
(2) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors that follow (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-804):
(a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BL 415AR 415BR 415CR.
4. Procedure(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the left pylon.
(2) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors that follow (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-804):
(a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BL 415AR 415BR 415CR.
Subtask 29-14-49-020-060-A
A. Removal of the Reservoir Pressurization Tubes in the Pylon
(a) At rib (8), hold the union of the tube (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the tube (2) from the tube (1).
(b) Remove the bolts (5), washers (4) and clamps (3) from the tube (1).
(c) Remove the bolt (20), nut (17), washer (19) and clamp (18).
(d) At the pylon/wing interface, hold the wing union with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the tube (1).
(e) Remove the tube (1) from the pylon.
(f) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(2) Removal of the tube (2)
(a) Remove the bolts (5), washers (4) and clamps (3) from the tube (2).
(b) Remove the bolts (11), washers (10) and self-locking nuts (6) from the half-clamp blocks (7) and (9).
(c) Remove the bolts (14) and washers (15).
(d) Remove the two half-clamp blocks (7) and (9) and the closing clamp block (13).
(e) Remove the tube (2) from the pylon with the related bush (12).
(f) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Removal of the tube (1) - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(a) At rib (8), hold the union of the tube (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the tube (2) from the tube (1).
(b) Remove the bolts (5), washers (4) and clamps (3) from the tube (1).
(c) Remove the bolt (20), nut (17), washer (19) and clamp (18).
(d) At the pylon/wing interface, hold the wing union with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the tube (1).
(e) Remove the tube (1) from the pylon.
(f) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(2) Removal of the tube (2)
(a) Remove the bolts (5), washers (4) and clamps (3) from the tube (2).
(b) Remove the bolts (11), washers (10) and self-locking nuts (6) from the half-clamp blocks (7) and (9).
(c) Remove the bolts (14) and washers (15).
(d) Remove the two half-clamp blocks (7) and (9) and the closing clamp block (13).
(e) Remove the tube (2) from the pylon with the related bush (12).
(f) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
