Installation of the Yellow Engine-2 Thrust-Reverser Check-Valve
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)

(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(4) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
Subtask 29-13-35-010-061-A (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
- On the HYD section of panel 40VU
- On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 29-13-35-010-062-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). E. Get Access
(1) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the pylon.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the pylon.
Subtask 29-13-35-420-054-C
A. Installation of the Yellow Engine-2 Thrust-Reverser Check-Valve
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Make sure that the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) is in position below the check valve (6).
(5) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from the check-valve (6).
(6) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(7) Apply hydraulic fluid:
(8) Install the new AIPC 29-13-86-51-060 PACKING (5) on the check valve (6).
(9) Install the check valve (6) on the tube (1).
(10) TORQUE the check valve (6) to between 83 and 75 m.N (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )

(11) Install the anti-rotate key (2) to the check valve (6).
(12) Install the washers (3) and screws (4) to the anti-rotate key (2).
(13) Tighten the screws (4).
(14) Apply hydraulic fluid:
(15) Install the pylon tube (7) to the check valve (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-49-400-815).
(16) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
Subtask 29-13-35-710-051-A CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Make sure that the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) is in position below the check valve (6).
(5) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from the check-valve (6).
(6) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(7) Apply hydraulic fluid:
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE HIGH-DENSITY FLUID SKYDROL 500B-4 FOR A320NEO FAMILY. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
(a) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) on the new packing (5). (8) Install the new AIPC 29-13-86-51-060 PACKING (5) on the check valve (6).
(9) Install the check valve (6) on the tube (1).
(10) TORQUE the check valve (6) to between 83 and 75 m.N (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. (11) Install the anti-rotate key (2) to the check valve (6).
(12) Install the washers (3) and screws (4) to the anti-rotate key (2).
(13) Tighten the screws (4).
(14) Apply hydraulic fluid:
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE HIGH-DENSITY FLUID SKYDROL 500B-4 FOR A320NEO FAMILY. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
(a) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) on the threads of the coupling nut of the pylon tube (7). (15) Install the pylon tube (7) to the check valve (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-49-400-815).
(16) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
B. Operational Test
(1) Do the operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
(2) After the dry-motoring, make sure that there were no leaks from the hydraulic connections.
(3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up(1) Do the operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
(2) After the dry-motoring, make sure that there were no leaks from the hydraulic connections.
(3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL).
