WARNING:

WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the slats are in the fully retracted position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
Subtask 29-13-35-941-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the slats are in the fully retracted position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(4) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(5) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
Subtask 29-13-35-040-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
- On the HYD section of panel 40VU
- On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(5) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
- Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 29-13-35-410-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are closed (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):

E. Get Access
(1) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the pylon.
(2) Make sure that access panel 423AL is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-805).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the pylon.
(2) Make sure that access panel 423AL is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-805).
Subtask 29-13-35-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Thrust-Reverser Case-Drain Check-Valve
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Make sure that a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) is in position below the drain mast, on the bottom of the engine at the 6 o'clock position, to collect the remaining hydraulic fluid.
(5) Make sure that a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) is in position below the connections of the thrust-reverser case-drain check-valve (2) with the T-duct (1) and pipe (3).
(6) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from the two ends of the thrust-reverser case-drain check-valve (2).
(7) Install the thrust-reverser case-drain check-valve (2) to the T-duct (1).
(8) TORQUE the coupling nut of the thrust-reverser case-drain check-valve (2) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )

(9) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(10) Put the pipe (3) in position between the check valve (2) and the T-fitting.
(11) Connect the coupling nut of the pipe (3) to the thrust-reverser case-drain check-valve (2).
(12) Connect the coupling nut of the pipe (3) to the T-fitting.
(13) TORQUE the coupling nut of the pipe (3) that is connected to the thrust-reverser case-drain check-valve (2) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
.
(14) Put a WRENCH - STANDARD on the flats of the T-fitting body to hold it, and TORQUE the coupling nut of the pipe (3) that is connected to the T-fitting to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
.
(15) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
Subtask 29-13-35-710-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Make sure that a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) is in position below the drain mast, on the bottom of the engine at the 6 o'clock position, to collect the remaining hydraulic fluid.
(5) Make sure that a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) is in position below the connections of the thrust-reverser case-drain check-valve (2) with the T-duct (1) and pipe (3).

(10) Put the pipe (3) in position between the check valve (2) and the T-fitting.
(11) Connect the coupling nut of the pipe (3) to the thrust-reverser case-drain check-valve (2).
(12) Connect the coupling nut of the pipe (3) to the T-fitting.
(13) TORQUE the coupling nut of the pipe (3) that is connected to the thrust-reverser case-drain check-valve (2) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. (14) Put a WRENCH - STANDARD on the flats of the T-fitting body to hold it, and TORQUE the coupling nut of the pipe (3) that is connected to the T-fitting to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. (15) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
B. Operational Test
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL).
(3) Do the operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
(4) After the dry-motoring, make sure that there were no leaks from the hydraulic connections.
(5) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL).
(3) Do the operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
(4) After the dry-motoring, make sure that there were no leaks from the hydraulic connections.
(5) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
