A. Do this test.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD of the overhead panel 20VU:

  • lift the guards and push and release the ENG 1 FIRE and ENG 2 FIRE pushbutton switches (P/BSW).
The single chime audio warning operates.

On the glareshield panels 130VU and 131VU:
  • the MASTER CAUT lights come on.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • the fire valve symbols of the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems change from in-line and green-colored to 90 deg. out-of-line and amber-colored.

On the fire shut-off valve (1046GK/3046GD):
  • the valve position indicator shows "SHUT".
2.On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD of the overhead panel 20VU:
On the glareshield panels 130VU and 131VU:
  • push the ENG 1 FIRE and ENG 2 FIRE P/BSW.
  • the MASTER CAUT lights go off.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • the fire valve symbols of the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems change from out-of-line and amber-colored to in-line and green-colored.

On the fire shut-off valve (1046GK/3046GD):
  • the valve position indicator shows "OPEN".
  • make sure that the P/BSW guards go back to their initial positions.

WARNING: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON CIRCUIT BREAKER PANELS. THERE IS A HIGH VOLTAGE BEHIND THESE PANELS.
3.Open the overhead panel 49VU to get access to the pins of the circuit breaker 1703GK (3702GD).

4.Connect a AMMETER - DIGITAL (with a range of less than 500 mA) between the terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the circuit breaker 1703GK (3702GD) with alligator clips.
NOTE: Make sure that the digital ammeter is correctly calibrated.

5.Open the circuit breaker 1703GK (3702GD).

6.Make sure that the ammeter shows 0 mA.
NOTE: Take into account the tolerance of the digital ammeter.
NOTE: If the ammeter does not show 0 mA, replace the fire shut-off valve 1046GK (3046GD) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-52-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-52-400-001) or ( (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-52-000-001)) and ( (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-52-400-001)).
NOTE: With a permanent operation of the electrical motor of the fire shut-off valve, because of an incomplete opening of the valve, the current range can be from 25 mA (clutch worn) to 400 mA.

7.Disconnect the ammeter.

8.Close the circuit breaker 1703GK (3702GD)

9.Install the overhead panel.
