Installation of the Engine Pump Fire-Valve
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(3) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
Subtask 29-11-52-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) You must obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002) when you do work on the hydraulic system. (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(3) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green Hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the zone 574.
(4) Make sure that the access panels 574AB and 574BB are open.
Subtask 29-11-52-860-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the Green Hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the zone 574.
(4) Make sure that the access panels 574AB and 574BB are open.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green Hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the zone 574.
(4) Make sure that the access panels 574AB and 574BB are removed.
(5) Make sure that the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) is below the access door openings.
Subtask 29-11-52-865-051-A (1) Make sure that the Green Hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the zone 574.
(4) Make sure that the access panels 574AB and 574BB are removed.
(5) Make sure that the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) is below the access door openings.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
Subtask 29-11-52-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.

B. Installation of the Engine Pump Fire-Valve
(1) Put the engine pump fire-valve (5) in position.
(2) Engage the coupling-nut (6). Do not tighten it fully.
(3) Extend the compensated slide (4) to engage the coupling-nut (3). Do not tighten it fully.
(4) Make sure that the engine pump fire-valve (5) is correctly aligned.
(5) TORQUE the coupling-nuts (6) and (3) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )
.
(6) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Connect the cable connector (1) to the electrical connector (2).
Subtask 29-11-52-420-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the engine pump fire-valve (5) in position.

(1) Put the engine pump fire-valve (5) in position.
(2) Connect and loosely tighten the coupling-nut (6).
(3) Extend the compensated slide (4) to engage the coupling-nut (3). Loosely tighten the coupling-nut (3).
(4) Make sure that the engine pump fire-valve (5) is correctly aligned and set the compensated slide (4) to 20 -3 +3 mm (0.79 -0.12 +0.12 in.).
(5) TORQUE the coupling-nuts (3) and (6) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )

(6) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Connect the cable connector (1) to the electrical connector (2).
Subtask 29-11-52-865-052-A (1) Put the engine pump fire-valve (5) in position.
(2) Connect and loosely tighten the coupling-nut (6).

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Pressurize the Hydraulic System
Subtask 29-11-52-720-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001). E. Test
(1) Do a dry motoring check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-001).
(2) Do a functional test of the engine pump fire-valve (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-720-001).
(3) Examine the hydraulic connections of the engine pump fire-valve (5) for leaks. Leaks are not permitted.
Subtask 29-11-52-720-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a dry motoring check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-001).
(2) Do a functional test of the engine pump fire-valve (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-720-001).
(3) Examine the hydraulic connections of the engine pump fire-valve (5) for leaks. Leaks are not permitted.
E. Test
(1) Do a dry motoring check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-045).
(2) Do an functional test of the engine pump fire-valve (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-720-001).
(3) Examine the hydraulic connections of the engine pump fire-valve (5) for leaks. Leaks are not permitted.
