4. Procedure
Subtask 27-96-00-710-059-A
A. Operational check of the elevator damping measurement by BITE
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE SIDE STICKS.
   (1) Do the operational test of the FCDC1 and FCDC2 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-96-00-710-001).

   (2) Pressurize the hydraulic systems:
     (a) If you use the electric pumps to pressurize the three hydraulic systems, it is possible that the pressure in the systems will not be sufficient.
  • If the pressure is not sufficient, do these troubleshooting procedures TSM 29-24-00-810-801 and TSM 29-12-00-810-804.
  • If the fault continues, we recommand that you use a ground power cart to do this test.
NOTE: It is necessary to do this check only on one side, EFCS1 or EFCS2, not on the two sides. This will prevent possible incorrect test results.
ACTION
RESULT
1.Push the line key adjacent to the EFCS1 or the EFCS2 indication.
The MCDU shows the EFCS1 or the EFCS2 page.
2.Push the line key adjacent to the TEST indication.
The MCDU shows the EFCS1or the EFCS2/TEST page.
3.Push the line key adjacent to the ELEVATOR DAMPING TEST indication.
The MCDU shows the EFCS1 or the EFCS2/ELEVATOR DAMPING TEST page.
4.On the overhead panels 23VU and 24VU:
  • Release the FLT CTL/ELAC 1 and FLT CTL/ELAC 2 pushbutton switches.
On the overhead panels 23VU and 24VU:
  • The OFF legends of the FLT CTL/ELAC 1 and FLT CTL/ELAC 2 pushbutton switches come on.
5.Pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems with the electric pumps (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-863-001).

6.On the center pedestal, on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the START LEFT ELEV TEST indication.
On the EFCS1 or the EFCS2/ELEVATOR DAMPING TEST page, the MCDU shows:
  • The L ELEV TEST OK indication
  • The minimum value
  • The damping factors.
If the ELEV TEST NOT POSSIBLE message is shown, do the troubleshooting procedure TSM 27-30-00-810-848.
If the elevator damping test result is not ok, do the troubleshooting procedure TSM 27-30-00-810-852.
7.Push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication.

8.Push the line key adjacent to the START RIGHT ELEV TEST indication .
On the EFCS1 or the EFCS2/ELEVATOR DAMPING TEST page, the MCDU shows:
  • The R ELEV TEST OK indication
  • The minimum value
  • The damping factors.
If the ELEV TEST NOT POSSIBLE message is shown, do the troubleshooting procedure TSM 27-30-00-810-848.
If the elevator damping test result is not ok, do the troubleshooting procedure TSM 27-30-00-810-852.
9.On the MCDU, push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS menu page comes into view.

10.On the overhead panels 23VU and 24VU:
