3. Job Set-up
Subtask 27-21-42-010-054-A
A. Get access to the avionics compartment.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE at access door 811.
   (2) Open access door 811.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On the FLT CTL section of overhead panel 23VU, make sure that the FAC 1 pushbutton switch is pushed (the OFF and FAULT legends are off).
   (3) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
   (4) On the center pedestal, on RUD TRIM control panel 110VU, make sure that the RUD TRIM indicator shows 0.
   (5) Make sure that the CAPT and F/O pedals are in the neutral position.
   (6) In zone 120, install the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (1) on the CAPT yaw/brake bell crank (2).
(Ref. Detail C).
   (7) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
   (8) Make sure that the Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (9) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to use these controls:
  • The CAPT and F/O pedals
  • The RUD TRIM selector switch on panel 110VU.
   (10) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (11) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

C. Remove the Captain/First Officer seat (Ref. AMM TASK 25-11-51-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 27-21-42-020-054-B
A. Removal of the Footrests
   (1) Remove the screws (3) from the plates (4).
   (2) Remove the plates (4) from the footrests (5).
   (3) Remove the screws (6) from the cover (7).
   (4) Remove the cover (7) from the footrests (5) and the pedal cover assy (10).
   (5) Remove the defective footrests (5).
   (6) Remove the bonding compound with a scraper.
   (7) Carefully clean the contact surfaces of the pedal cover assy (10) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry them with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

B. Removal of the Pedal Pads
   (1) Remove the defective pads (8).
   (2) Remove the bonding compound with a scraper.
   (3) Carefully clean the contact surfaces of the pedal (9) Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry them with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
