A. Aircraft Procedure
   (1) Remove the Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-35-000-001).

F ELT - Access ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: PULL THE TOGGLE SWITCH BEFORE YOU SET IT TO THE "ON", "OFF" OR "ARMED" POSITION. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER.
   (1) Remove ceiling panel 261BC (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-000-002).
   (2) Record the identification number from the identification label of the ELT (5) and the related manufacturer serial number. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (3) Set the toggle switch (9) to OFF.
   (4) Remove the backup antenna (4) from the ELT (5) and keep the backup antenna (4) in the aircraft. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (5) Disconnect the antenna connector (12) from the connector (10).
   (6) Disconnect the electrical connector (11) from the connector (8).
   (7) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (8) Remove the screw (7) and the lanyard (6).
   (9) Remove the bolts (3) and the washers (2).
   (10) Carefully remove the ELT (5) from the supports (1).

NOTE: If the aircraft has a programming dongle (141MX), at the adapter cable, where the aircraft code is permanently stored, it is not necessary to change that code.
   (1) Send the ELT to the workshop for an operational check of the acceleration sensor (G-switch).
   (2) If the Aircraft Registration Number (ARN) changed or the programming equipment is not available, refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-840-001).

B. Workshop Procedure
NOTE: If the aircraft is equipped with a aircraft identification module (AIM 142MX), where the aircraft code is permanently stored, it is not necessary to change that code.
   (1) Send the ELT to the workshop for the operational check of the acceleration sensor (G-switch).
   (2) If the aircraft registration code/number (ICAO) has changed, or the programming equipment is not available, refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-840-001).

   (1) Send the ELT to the workshop.

   (1) Install the ELT (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-35-400-001).
   (2) Do the operational test of the ELT (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-710-001).

CAUTION: PULL THE TOGGLE SWITCH BEFORE YOU SET IT TO THE "ON", "OFF" OR "ARMED" POSITION. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that you install the ELT (5) that has the correct identification number. Refer to the information recorded during the removal procedure.
   (4) If the aircraft registration number is changed, refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-840-001).
   (5) Make sure that the toggle switch (9) is set to OFF.
   (6) Put the ELT (5) in position on the supports (1).
   (7) Install the washers (2) and the bolts (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (8) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in ) T.
   (9) Install the lanyard (6) and the screw (7).
   (10) Tighten the screw (7).
   (11) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (12) Connect the electrical connector (11) to the connector (8).
   (13) Connect the antenna connector (12) to the connector (10).
   (14) Do the BITE test of the ELT (
Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-740-001).
   (15) Put the heat protection material (IPC Ref. 25-65-04-68-340) around the antenna connector (12) and attach the antenna connector (12) with CORD DIA 1,1 MM (0,043 IN) - FIBERGLASS (DAN107-1).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (16) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) to the fiberglass cords knots.
   (17) Install the backup antenna (4) on the ELT (5).
   (18) Set the toggle switch (9) to ARMED.
   (19) Install ceiling panel 261BC (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-400-002).
