A. Removal of the ELT
(1) Set the ON/OFF/ARM switch (10) to OFF.
(2) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the material (14) from:
(4) Disconnect the antenna connector (9) from the ANT connector (11).
(5) Disconnect the electrical connector (8) or programming dongle (19) (if installed) from the RCP connector (12).
(6) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Carefully remove the ELT (5) from the bracket (1).
(8) If you removed the programming dongle (19) and if a maintenance dongle is available, connect the maintenance dongle.
Subtask 25-65-35-020-050-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Set the ON/OFF/ARM switch (10) to OFF.
(2) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the material (14) from:
- The electrical connector (8) or the programming dongle (19) (if installed)
- The RCP connector (12).
NOTE: The maintenance dongle overrides 15 HEX code of the ELT and it prevents unwanted activation.
A. Removal of the ELT 110MX
(1) Set the ARM/OFF/TX switch (11) to the OFF position.
(2) Disconnect the antenna connector 110MX-B (8) from the connector (10).
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector 110MX-A (7) from the connector (9).
(4) Remove the bolts (4), the washers (5) and the nuts (6).
(5) Carefully disconnect the ELT (3) from the Aircraft Identification Module (AIM) (2), and remove it from the support (1).
Subtask 25-65-35-020-050-H ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Set the ARM/OFF/TX switch (11) to the OFF position.
CAUTION:
PULL THE TOGGLE SWITCH BEFORE YOU SET IT TO THE "ON", "OFF" OR "ARMED" POSITION. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER.
A. Removal of the ELT NOTE: There are different protocol settings possible for the activation/identification module:
(1) Set the toggle switch (13) to OFF. - When you select the beacon serial-number protocol-setting, the activation/identification module must stay attached to the ELT.
- When you select the aircraft 24-bit address protocol-setting, the activation/identification module must stay attached to the aircraft.
This will make sure that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) code stays the same when you install an ELT.
(2) If the backup antenna (4) is installed, remove and keep it in the aircraft. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
(3) Carefully remove the heat protection material from the antenna connector (16).
(4) If the heat protection material is damaged, discard it.
(5) Disconnect the antenna connector (16) from the connector (14).
(6) Disconnect the electrical connector (15) from the connector (12).
(7) If you select the beacon serial-number protocol-setting for the activation/identification module (5), remove the ELT (11) together with the activation/identification module (5):
(a) Remove the screw (9) and disconnect the wire lanyard (10) from the aircraft structure (1).
