   (1) To do this procedure, use the MILLIOHMMETER 0.5 OHM MAX, 10 A MAX - MULTIRANGE, with the related leads and prods as follows:
     (a) Range and output test current:
  • 200 milliohms with an output test current of 10 amperes (for a maximum resistance value of not more than 200 milliohms).
     (b) Accuracy:
  • Plus or minus 10 per cent of the measured value.

E. Remove the HF antenna coupler (Ref. AMM TASK 23-11-36-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 23-11-00-820-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Check of the Electrical Bonding of the HF System
   (1) On the coupler rack:
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the rack cutout (not painted) and the bonding lead (1).
       1 If the value is less than 2 milliohms:
  • Go to step (2).
       2 If the value is more than 2 milliohms:
  • Remove the screws (2) and the washers.
  • Remove the coupler rack.
  • Remove the screws (3) and the washers.
  • Repair the bonding of the screws (2) and (3) of the coupler rack (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005).
  • Install the coupler rack again with the screws (2) and (3) and the washers.
  • Do step (1) again.
   (2) On the antenna or feeder assembly:
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the rack cutout contour (not painted) and the center contact.
       1 If the value is less than 10 milliohms:
  • Go to Para. 4. B.
       2 If the value is more than 10 milliohms:
  • Go to step (3).

   (3) On the antenna:
     (a) Disconnect the feedline (1) from the antenna (4).
     (b) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the antenna or feedline screw (5) and the bonding lead (2).
       1 If the value is less than 5 milliohms:
  • Go to step (4).
       2 If the value is more than 5 milliohms:
  • Repair the bonding of the screws (3) on the top and bottom of the antenna (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005), and/or
  • Change the feedline (1).
  • Do step (3) again.
     (c) Connect the feedline (1) to the antenna (4).

   (4) Do the operational test of the HF system (Ref. AMM TASK 23-11-00-710-001).
     (a) If the time necessary for the tuning is more than eight seconds:
  • Go to step (5).
     (b) If the time necessary for the tuning is less than eight seconds:
  • Go to Para. 4. B.

   (5) On the fuselage or circular plate (2):
     (a) Remove the screws (1) from the circular plate (2).
     (b) Disconnect and isolate the circular plate (2) from the fuselage.
     (c) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the disk of the coupler rack and the bonding lead (3).
       1 If the value is less than 1 milliohm:
  • Go to step (6).
       2 If the value is more than 1 milliohm:
     (d) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE SEALANT GO INTO THE HOLE OF THE SCREWS.
     (e) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) on the fuselage.
     (f) Clean the holes of the screws (1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
     (g) Install the circular plate (2) on the fuselage with the screws (1).
     (h) If necessary, install the aft galley unit (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-41-40), (Ref. AMM TASK 25-33-41-400-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 25-33-42-400-001), (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-43-40), (Ref. AMM TASK 25-33-45-400-001) and/or (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-50-40).
   (6) On the fuselage or circular plate (2):
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the circular plate (2) and the bonding lead.
       1 If the value is less than 1 milliohm:
  • Go to step (7).
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE SEALANT GO INTO THE HOLE OF THE SCREWS.
       2 If the value is more than 1 milliohm:
  • Remove the screws (1) from the circular plate (2).
  • Repair the bonding of the screws (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005).
  • Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
  • Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) between the fuselage and the circular plate (2).
  • Clean the holes of the screws (1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
  • Install the circular plate (2) on the fuselage with the screws (1).
  • Do step (6) again.

   (7) On the antenna or feeder assembly:
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the rack cutout contour (not painted) and the center contact.
       1 If the value is less than 10 milliohms:
  • Go to Para. 4. B.
       2 If the value is more than 10 milliohms:
  • Go back to step (1).
Subtask 23-11-00-820-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Check of the Electrical Bonding of the HF System
   (1) On the coupler rack:
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the rack cutout (not painted) and the bonding lead (1).
       1 If the value is less than 2 milliohms:
  • Go to step (2).
       2 If the value is more than 2 milliohms:
  • Remove the screws (2) and the washers.
  • Remove the coupler rack.
  • Remove the screws (3) and the washers.
  • Repair the bonding of the screws (2) and (3) of the coupler rack (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005).
  • Install the coupler rack again with the screws (2) and (3) and the washers.
  • Do step (1) again.

   (2) On the feedline:
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the two center contacts (HF1 and HF2).
       1 If the value is less than 7 milliohms:
  • Go to step (3).
       2 If the value is more than 7 milliohms:
  • Go to step (4).

   (3) On the antenna or feeder assembly:
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the rack cutout contour (not painted) and the center contact.
       1 If the value is less than 10 milliohms:
  • Go to Para. 4. B.
       2 If the value is more than 10 milliohms:
  • Go to step (4).

   (4) On the antenna:
     (a) Disconnect the feedline (1) from the antenna (4).
     (b) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the antenna or feedline screw (5) and the bonding lead (2).
       1 If the value is less than 5 milliohms:
  • Go to step (5).
       2 If the value is more than 5 milliohms:
  • Repair the bonding of the screws (3) on the top and bottom of the antenna (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005), and/or
  • Change the feedline (1).
  • Do step (4) again.
     (c) Connect the feedline (1) to the antenna (4).

   (5) Do the operational test of the HF system (Ref. AMM TASK 23-11-00-710-001).
     (a) If the time necessary for the tuning is more than eight seconds:
  • Go to step (6).
     (b) If the time necessary for the tuning is less than eight seconds:
  • Go to Para. 4. B.

   (6) On the fuselage or circular plate (2):
     (a) Remove the screws (1) from the circular plate (2).
     (b) Disconnect and isolate the circular plate (2) from the fuselage.
     (c) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the disk of the coupler rack and the bonding lead (3).
       1 If the value is less than 1 milliohm:
  • Go to step (7).
       2 If the value is more than 1 milliohm:
     (d) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE SEALANT GO INTO THE HOLE OF THE SCREWS.
     (e) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) on the fuselage.
     (f) Clean the holes of the four screws (1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
     (g) Install the circular plate (2) on the fuselage with the screws (1).

     (h) If necessary, install the aft galley unit (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-41-40), (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-41-40), (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-42-40), (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-43-40), (Ref. AMM TASK 25-33-45-400-001) and/or (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-50-40).
   (7) On the fuselage or circular plate (2):
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the circular plate (2) and the bonding lead.
       1 If the value is less than 1 milliohm:
  • Go to step (8).
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE SEALANT GO INTO THE HOLE OF THE SCREWS.
       2 If the value is more than 1 milliohm:
  • Remove the screws (1) from the circular plate (2).
  • Repair the bonding of the screws (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005).
  • Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
  • Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) between the fuselage and the circular plate (2).
  • Clean the holes of the four screws (1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
  • Install the circular plate (2) on the fuselage with the screws (1).
  • Do step (7) again.

   (8) On the feedline (1):
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the two center contacts (HF1 and HF2).
       1 If the value is less than 7 milliohms:
  • Go to step (9).
       2 If the value is more than 7 milliohms:
  • Replace the feedline (1).
  • Do step (8) again.
   (9) On the antenna or feeder assembly:
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the rack cutout contour (not painted) and the center contact.
       1 If the value is less than 10 milliohms:
  • Go to para. 4. B.
       2 If the value is more than 10 milliohms:
  • Go back to step (1).
Subtask 23-11-00-820-050-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Check of the Electrical Bonding of the HF System
   (1) On the coupler rack:
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the rack cutout (not painted) and the bonding lead (1).
       1 If the value is between 0.3 milliohm and 1 milliohm:
  • Go to step (2).
       2 If the value is less than 0.3 milliohm:
  • Do a check of the setting of the bonding measurement tool and the bonding measurement.
  • Do step (1) (a) again.
       3 If the value is more than 1 milliohm:
  • Remove the screws (2) and the washers.
  • Remove the coupler rack.
  • Remove the screws (3) and the washers.
  • Repair the bonding of the screws (2) and (3) of the coupler rack (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005).
  • Install the coupler rack again with the screws (2) and (3) and the washers.
  • Do step (1) again.
   (2) On the feedline (5):
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the two center contacts (HF1 and HF2).
       1 Make sure that the value is between 5.5 milliohms and 7 milliohms.
         a If the value is between 5.5 milliohms and 7 milliohms:
  • Go to step (3).
         b If the value is less than 5.5 milliohms:
  • Do a check of the setting of the bonding measurement tool and the bonding measurement.
  • Do step (2) (a) again.
         c If the value is more than 7 milliohms:
   (3) On the antenna or feeder assembly:
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the rack cutout (not painted) and the center contact.
       1 If the value is between 4 milliohms and 8 milliohms:
  • Go to Para. B.
       2 If the value is less than 4 milliohms:
  • Do a check of the setting of the bonding measurement tool and the bonding measurement.
  • Do step (3) (a) again.
       3 If the value is more than 8 milliohms:
  • Go to step (4).
   (4) On the antenna (4):
     (a) Disconnect the feedline (5) from the antenna (4).
     (b) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the antenna or feedline screw (1) and the bonding lead (2).
       1 If the value is between 1 milliohm and 2 milliohms:
  • Connect the feedline (5) to the antenna (4).
  • Go to step (5).
       2 If the value is less than 1 milliohm:
  • Do a check of the setting of the bonding measurement tool and the bonding measurement.
  • Do step (4) (b) again.
       3 If the value is more than 2 milliohms:
         a Repair the bonding of the screws (3) on the top and bottom of the antenna (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005).
         b Do step (4) (b) again:
  • If the value is between 1 milliohm and 2 milliohms:
    . Connect the feedline (5) to the antenna (4).
    . Do step (3) (a) again.
   (5) On the fuselage or feeder shield:
     (a) Disconnect the feedline (2) or (3) from the rack.
     (b) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the feedline shield and the bonding braids of the rear cabin door.
       1 If the value is between 0.7 milliohm and 1.5 milliohms:
  • Connect the feedline (2) or (3) to the rack.
  • Go to Para. B.
       2 If the value is less than 0.7 milliohm:
  • Do a check of the setting of the bonding measurement tool and the bonding measurement.
  • Do step (5) (a) again.
       3 If the value is more than 1.5 milliohms:
  • Go to step (6).
   (6) On the fuselage or circular plate (2):
     (a) Measure the electrical bonding resistance between the circular plate (2) and the bonding lead.
       1 If the value is between 0.3 milliohm and 1 milliohm:
       2 If the value is less than 0.3 milliohm:
  • Do a check of the setting of the bonding measurement tool and the bonding measurement.
  • Do step (6) (a) again.
       3 If the value is more than 1 milliohm:
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE SEALANT GO INTO THE HOLE OF THE SCREWS.
         a Remove the screws (1) from the circular plate (2).
         b Repair the bonding of the screws (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005).
         c Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
         d Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) between the fuselage and the circular plate (2).
         e Clean the holes of the screws (1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
         f Install the circular plate (2) on the fuselage with the screws (1).
         g Measure again the electrical bonding resistance between the circular plate (2) and the bonding lead.

  • If the value is between 0.3 milliohm and 1 milliohm:
    . Connect the feedline (2) or (3) to the rack.
    . Go to Para. B.

  • If the value is less than 0.3 milliohm:
    . Do a check of the setting of the bonding measurement tool and the bonding measurement.
    . Do step (6) (a) again.

  • If the value is more than 1 milliohm:
    . Replace the feedline (2) or (3).
