(1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as for the removal task.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.

4. Procedure
Subtask 53-45-11-914-050-A

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Do a check for the condition of the sealant on the dorsal fin (4) and the aircraft mating surfaces. If necessary, replace the sealant:
(a) Remove the old sealant from the dorsal fin (4) and the aircraft mating surfaces with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(b) Clean the dorsal fin (4) and the aircraft mating surfaces with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(c) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the dorsal fin (4) and the aircraft mating surfaces (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-11-300-001).

Subtask 53-45-11-420-050-B

B. Installation of the Dorsal Fin 321AL
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Attach the 98A55308440001 SLING-UNIVERSAL,TAILPLANE to the crane and the lift lug (2).
(3) Lift the dorsal fin (4) with the CRANE HEIGHT 10 M (33 FT) and put it in the installation position on the aircraft.
(4) Install the screws (3) and TORQUE to between 0.33 and 0.27 m.daN (29.20 and 23.89 lbf.in )

(5) Make sure that the clearances at points 'a', 'b' and 'c' are as follows:

Point 'a' is 10.0 +3.5 mm or -3.5 mm (0.3937 +0.1378 in. or -0.1378 in.)
Point 'b' is 1.0 +1.0 mm or -1.0 mm (0.0394 +0.0394 in. or -0.0394 in.)
Point 'c' is 3.5 +0.5 mm or -0.5 mm (0.1378 +0.0197 in. or -0.0197 in.).

(6) Disconnect the sling from the lift lug (2).
(7) Remove the lift lug (2) from the lift point (1).
(8) Install the plastic plug in the lift point (1).
(9) Install a new self-adhesive PVC disk Adhesive Tape-Hoisting points PVC Disks - (Material No.05TNB1) on the lift point (1).
(10) Apply a bead of the Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) along the joints of the dorsal fin (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-11-300-001).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
