Use this procedure to remove the lubrication and scavenge oil pump.

   (1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 79-21-01-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Lubrication and Scavenge Oil Pump
   (1) Find the lubrication and the scavenge oil pump (1) attached to the front of the Main Gearbox (MGB) at the eight o'clock position. See sheet 1 of the figure:
   (2) Put the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) under the oil pump (1).
   (3) Drain the oil (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-680-801).
   (4) Remove and disconnect the wiring harnesses as follows: See sheets 1 and 2 of the figure:
     (a) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to disconnect the wiring harness (WC10) connector (P35) from the oil pump (1) receptacle (J35).
     (b) Remove the wiring harnesses (W03) and (W04) from the bracket (13) spring clips.
   (5) Remove the tube (LR21) (11) as follows: See sheet 2 of the figure:
     (a) Remove the three bolts (12) that connect the tube (LR21) (11) to the oil pump (1).
     (b) Remove the bracket (13) from the tube (LR21) (11).
     (c) Remove the three bolts (15) that connect the tube (LR21) (11) to the oil scavenge tube (LR20).
     (d) Remove the two face seals (14).
   (6) Remove the 2.5 drain bleed tube (DR65) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-49-000-801).
   (7) Remove the tube (LR01) (29) as follows: See sheet 3 of the figure:
     (a) Remove the three bolts (12) that connect the tube (LR01) (29) to the oil pump (1).
       1 Remove the bracket (28) from the tube (LR01) (29).
       2 Disconnect the W03 harness from the bracket (28).
     (b) Remove the three nuts (25) from the three bolts (27) that connect the tube (29) (LR01) to the tube (LR02).
     (c) Remove the tube (LR01) (29).
     (d) Remove the two face seals (26).
   (8) Remove the tubes (LB01) (44) and (LP03) (48) as follows: See sheet 4 of the figure:
     (a) Remove the two bolts (43) that connect the tube (LB01) (44) to the MGB.
     (b) Remove the three bolts (27) and the nut (46) that connect the tube (LB01) (44) to the tube (LB02) and the bracket (47).
     (c) Remove the bolt (42) that connects the tube (LB01) (44) to the oil pump (1).
     (d) Remove the three bolts (40) that connect the bracket (39) and tube (LP03) (48) to the oil pump (1).
     (e) Remove the three bolts (27) and the nut (46) that connect the tube (LP03) (48) to the tube (LP02) and the bracket (47).
     (f) Remove the bracket (39).
     (g) Remove the bracket (47).
     (h) Remove the tube (LB01) (44).
     (i) Remove the face seals (45) and (41).
     (j) Remove the tube (LP03) (48).
     (k) Remove the two face seals (26).
   (9) Remove the tube (LR35) (59) as follows: See sheet 5 of the figure:
     (a) Remove the three bolts (12) that connect the tube (LR35) (59) to the oil pump (1).
     (b) Remove the two bolts (60) that connect the bracket (61) and the tube (LR35) (59) to the Angle Gearbox (AGB).
     (c) Remove the bracket (61).
     (d) Remove the tube (LR35) (59).
     (e) Remove the face seals (58) and (62).
   (10) Disconnect the tube (LR30) (73) from the oil pump (1) as follows: See sheet 6 of the figure:
     (a) Remove the three bolts (12) that connect the bracket (74) and the tube (LR30) (73) to the oil pump (1).
     (b) Remove the bracket (74).
     (c) Remove the face seal (72).

PRE SB C72-00-0077A (Config-1 Initial Design Configuration)

   (11) Remove the oil pump (1) as follows:
     (a) Install the detail base to the PWA106340 JACK, HYDRAULIC - VFG, EDP, FUEL PUMP, STARTER with the three detail cap screws.
NOTE: It is permitted to use the PWA80611 JACK-HYDRAULIC if the PWA106340 JACK, HYDRAULIC - VFG, EDP, FUEL PUMP, STARTER is not available.
     (b) Attach the PWA211314 ADAPTER, INSTALLATION to the base with the four captive screws.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE OIL PUMP, MAKE SURE THAT THE TUBE (LR30) IS PROTECTED WITH PADS OR CLOTH. IF THE TUBE IS NOT PROTECTED, DAMAGE TO IT CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: HOLD THE WEIGHT OF THE OIL PUMP DURING THE INSTALLATION. DO NOT LET THE OIL PUMP HANG ON THE DOWEL PINS OR ON THE DRIVE SHAFT WITHOUT THE BOLTS ENGAGED. IF YOU DO, THE OIL PUMP CAN DISENGAGE THE GEARBOX AND DROP. THE OIL PUMP WEIGHT IS 66 LBS (30 KGS). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE OIL PUMP AND ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
     (c) Adjust the adapter handle, the hand knob and the two lift hand wheels to align the PWA211314 ADAPTER, INSTALLATION with the oil pump (1). See sheet 7 of the figure:
     (d) Attach the three adapter captive screws to the oil pump (1). See sheet 7 of the figure:
     (e) Remove the four bolts (89) and the four washers (88) from the oil pump (1).
     (f) Loosen the four captive bolts on the oil pump (1).
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE OIL PUMP. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO INTERFERENCE WITH THE OIL PUMP DRIVESHAFT WITH ANY OF THE OTHER PARTS. THE OIL PUMP WEIGHT IS 66 LBS (30 KGS). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE OIL PUMP AND ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
     (g) Remove the oil pump (1) from the MGB.
     (h) Remove the seal plate (87).
NOTE: The seal plate (87) can be used again later (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-01-400-801).

POST SB 72-00-0077A (Config-2 Improved Oil Pump Configuration)

   (12) Remove the oil pump (1) as follows:
     (a) Install the detail base to the PWA106340 JACK, HYDRAULIC - VFG, EDP, FUEL PUMP, STARTER with the three detail cap screws.
NOTE: It is permitted to use the PWA80611 JACK-HYDRAULIC if the PWA106340 JACK, HYDRAULIC - VFG, EDP, FUEL PUMP, STARTER is not available.
     (b) Attach the PWA211314 ADAPTER, INSTALLATION to the base with the four captive screws.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE OIL PUMP, MAKE SURE THAT THE TUBE (LR30) IS PROTECTED WITH PADS OR CLOTH. IF THE TUBE IS NOT PROTECTED, DAMAGE TO IT CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: HOLD THE WEIGHT OF THE OIL PUMP DURING THE INSTALLATION. DO NOT LET THE OIL PUMP HANG ON THE DOWEL PINS OR ON THE DRIVE SHAFT WITHOUT THE BOLTS ENGAGED. IF YOU DO, THE OIL PUMP CAN DISENGAGE THE GEARBOX AND DROP. THE OIL PUMP WEIGHT IS 66 LBS (30 KGS). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE OIL PUMP AND ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
     (c) Adjust the adapter handle, the hand knob and the two lift hand wheels to align the PWA211314 ADAPTER, INSTALLATION with the oil pump (1). See sheet 8 of the figure:
     (d) Attach the three adapter captive screws to the oil pump (1). See sheet 8 of the figure:
     (e) Remove the four bolts (89) and the four washers (88) from the oil pump (1).
     (f) Loosen the four captive bolts on the oil pump (1).
     (g) Disengagement of the oil pump:
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE OIL PUMP. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO INTERFERENCE WITH THE OIL PUMP DRIVESHAFT WITH ANY OF THE OTHER PARTS. THE OIL PUMP WEIGHT IS 66 LBS (30 KGS). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE OIL PUMP AND ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
     (h) Remove the oil pump (1) from the MGB.
     (i) Remove the seal plate (87).
NOTE: The seal plate (87) can be used again later (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-01-400-801).
     (j) Remove the strainer (90) from the oil pump (1).
     (k) Remove and discard the packing (91) from the strainer (90).

   (13) Remove the tube (LR30) (73) as follows. See sheet 6 of the figure:
     (a) Remove the bolt (12) and the two bolts (77) that attach the bracket (76) and the tube (LR30) (73) to the AGB.
     (b) Remove the bracket (76).
     (c) Remove the tube (LR30) (73).
     (d) Remove the strainer element (75).
   (14) If necessary, remove the chip collector assemblies and the oil filter differential pressure sensor as follows:
     (a) Remove the magnetic chip collector assemblies (Ref. AMM TASK 79-22-01-000-801).
     (b) Remove the oil filter differential pressure sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 79-33-23-000-801).
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (15) Make sure that you install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
