(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure that there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
(2) Remove the access panel on the pylon to get access to the HCU (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-805):

(3) Examine the proximity sensor targets on the HCU. Look for bends, cracks, broken targets, missing targets and other damage.
(4) If you find damage, replace the HCU (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-01-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-01-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Do a GVI of the Feedback Locking Actuator Proximity Sensor Targets
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure that there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact UTAS for disposition.
(2) Examine the proximity sensor targets on the feedback locking actuator. Look for bends, cracks, broken targets, missing targets and other damage.
(3) If you find damage, replace the feedback locking actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-04-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-04-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.

E. Do a GVI of the Locking Actuator Proximity Sensor Targets
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure that there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact UTAS for disposition.
(2) Examine the proximity sensor targets on the locking actuator. Look for bends, cracks, broken targets, missing targets and other damage.
(3) If you find damage, replace the locking actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-03-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-03-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.
5. Close-up(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure that there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact UTAS for disposition.
(2) Examine the proximity sensor targets on the locking actuator. Look for bends, cracks, broken targets, missing targets and other damage.
(3) If you find damage, replace the locking actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-03-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-03-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.
