A. Installation of the EGT Thermocouple
(2) Find the four Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC) bosses at approximately the 2, 4, 8 and 10 o'clock positions.
(a) ApplyP03-001 lubricant, aircraft turbine engine to the threads of the two bolts (1).
(b) Align and install the probe (2) to the TEC boss and attach with the two bolts (1).
(c) TORQUE the two bolts (1) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
.
(4) Connect the EGT wiring harness (WC05) to the probe (2) as follows:
(a) Put the harness (WC05) in the spring clips as necessary.
(b) Install the two harness (WC05) captured nuts to the two probe (2) studs
(c) Torque the nuts as follows:
.
2 TORQUE the smaller nut to between 20 and 16 lbf.in (0.23 and 0.18 m.daN )
.
(5) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage, and correct assembly.
5. Close-upCAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:
DO NOT BEND OR TWIST THE EGT HARNESS LEADS WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THEM. IF YOU BEND OR TWIST THE EGT HARNESS LEADS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CABLE.
(1) Removal of protection covers CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Find the four Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC) bosses at approximately the 2, 4, 8 and 10 o'clock positions.
NOTE: Use this procedure for each EGT probe.
(3) Install the EGT probe (2) as follows: (a) Apply
(b) Align and install the probe (2) to the TEC boss and attach with the two bolts (1).
(c) TORQUE the two bolts (1) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
. (4) Connect the EGT wiring harness (WC05) to the probe (2) as follows:
(a) Put the harness (WC05) in the spring clips as necessary.
(b) Install the two harness (WC05) captured nuts to the two probe (2) studs
(c) Torque the nuts as follows:
CAUTION:
DO NOT TORQUE THE STUD NUTS MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED TORQUE. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN DAMAGE OR BREAK THE STUDS.
1 TORQUE the larger nut to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
. 2 TORQUE the smaller nut to between 20 and 16 lbf.in (0.23 and 0.18 m.daN )
