C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 75-31-02-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the right thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the right thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 75-31-02-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) Primary
(1) Removal of the protection covers
(2) Install the actuator (1) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the actuator piston is retracted.
(b) Put the actuator (1) on the HPC SVA lever housing and engage the actuator piston on the actuator link.
(d) Attach the actuator (1) to the SVA bracket with the two bolts (4).
(e) TORQUE the three captive bolts to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
equally in an opposite pattern until the same torque indication holds.
(f) TORQUE the two bolts (4) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
.
(g) Attach the actuator link to the actuator (1) as follows:
1 Move the link to align with the actuator (1) piston bolt hole by turning the crank pad on the bell crank arm.
2 Attach the actuator link to the actuator (1) with shoulder bolt (2) and nut (3).
3 TORQUE the nut (3) to between 135 and 120 lbf.in (1.53 and 1.36 m.daN )
.
(3) Connect the servo fuel tubes (CP03), (CR03), (CP15), (CR15) and the drain tube (DR21) to the actuator (1) as follows:
(b) Torque the servo pressure fuel tube (CP03) as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )

(c) Torque the servo pressure fuel tube (CP15) as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )
.
(d) Torque the servo return fuel tube (CR03) as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 375 and 340 lbf.in (4.24 and 3.84 m.daN )
.
(e) Torque the servo return fuel tube (CR15) as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )
.
(f) Connect the drain tube (DR21) to the actuator as follows:
1 Connect the tube (DR21) to the actuator (1) and tighten it with your hand.
2 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
.
(4) Connect the (W03) wiring harness (4087KS) connector (P24) to the actuator receptacle (J24) as follows:
(b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
(c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT and tighten the connector against the receptacle.
(d) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
(e) While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
(f) Tighten the connector until the pliers slip on the connector ring.
(5) Connect the (WC08) wiring harness (4094KS) connector (P25) to the actuator receptacle (J25) as follows:
(b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
(c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT and tighten the connector against the receptacle.
(d) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
(e) While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
(f) Tighten the connector until the pliers slip on the connector ring.
(6) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage, and correct assembly.
5. Close-up(1) Removal of the protection covers
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Install the actuator (1) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the actuator piston is retracted.
(b) Put the actuator (1) on the HPC SVA lever housing and engage the actuator piston on the actuator link.
NOTE: It is not necessary to align the bolt hole in the actuator piston with the actuator link at this time.
(c) Attach the actuator (1) to the HPC SVA lever housing with the three captive bolts and tighten them with your hand. (d) Attach the actuator (1) to the SVA bracket with the two bolts (4).
(e) TORQUE the three captive bolts to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
equally in an opposite pattern until the same torque indication holds. (f) TORQUE the two bolts (4) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
. (g) Attach the actuator link to the actuator (1) as follows:
1 Move the link to align with the actuator (1) piston bolt hole by turning the crank pad on the bell crank arm.
2 Attach the actuator link to the actuator (1) with shoulder bolt (2) and nut (3).
3 TORQUE the nut (3) to between 135 and 120 lbf.in (1.53 and 1.36 m.daN )
. (3) Connect the servo fuel tubes (CP03), (CR03), (CP15), (CR15) and the drain tube (DR21) to the actuator (1) as follows:
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
(a) Connect the tubes to the actuator (1) and tighten them with your hand. (b) Torque the servo pressure fuel tube (CP03) as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )
. (c) Torque the servo pressure fuel tube (CP15) as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )
. (d) Torque the servo return fuel tube (CR03) as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 375 and 340 lbf.in (4.24 and 3.84 m.daN )
. (e) Torque the servo return fuel tube (CR15) as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )
. (f) Connect the drain tube (DR21) to the actuator as follows:
1 Connect the tube (DR21) to the actuator (1) and tighten it with your hand.
2 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. (4) Connect the (W03) wiring harness (4087KS) connector (P24) to the actuator receptacle (J24) as follows:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND RECEPTACLE ARE CLEAN WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM. DIRTY CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Examine, align and engage the connectors. (b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
(c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT and tighten the connector against the receptacle.
(d) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
(e) While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
(f) Tighten the connector until the pliers slip on the connector ring.
(5) Connect the (WC08) wiring harness (4094KS) connector (P25) to the actuator receptacle (J25) as follows:
