1. Reason for the Job
Use this test to do an aural check of the igniter plug operation.
This test can be used as an alternative in case of a CFDS failure.

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the MAINTENANCE PNL 50VU:
Make sure that the FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is released.
The ON legend of this pushbutton switch is ON.
   (2) On the ENG PNL make sure that:
  • The ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN START selector switch is set to NORM.
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch is set to OFF.
   (3) On the OVERHEAD CTL & IND PNL:
Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/MAN START/1(2) pushbutton switch is OFF (the pushbutton switch is released out).
   (4) On the HYD/FUEL PNL:
Make sure that the OFF legends of all the FUEL/PUMPS pushbutton switches are ON (the pushbutton switches are released out).
   (5) Do an ENG 1(2) dry motor (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-045) to remove the remaining fuel before you do the test.
4. Procedure
Subtask 74-00-00-710-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: BEFORE YOU PUSH THE MAN START PUSHBUTTON SWITCH, MAKE SURE THAT, ON THE ECAM DISPLAY UNIT, THE PRESSURE AT THE STARTER VALVE INLET IS ZERO PSI. IF THE PRESSURE IS NOT ZERO PSI, THE ENGINE CAN ROTATE AND CAUSE INJURY.
A. Do this test:
NOTE: Ignore the warnings that occur during the procedure that follows.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the ENG PNL:
  • Set the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN START selector switch to IGN START.
On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • The primary engine parameters come into view.
    On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • The IGN indication and the starter valve symbols come into view.
2.On the OVERHEAD CLT & IND PNL:
  • Push the ENG/MAN 1(2) START pushbutton switch.
  • The ON legend of this pushbutton switch comes on.
3.On the ENG PNL:
  • Set the ENG/MASTER 1(2) switch to ON.
On the engine 1(2):
  • Make sure that the two igniter plugs make a noise.
4.Select the ENG key on the ECAM CONTROL PANEL.
On the lower ECAM display unit, the A and B indications come into view.
5.On the OVERHEAD C/B PNL:
  • Open the circuit breaker 1JH (A03).
On the engine 1(2):
  • Make sure that only one igniter plug makes a noise.
6.On the REAR C/B PNL:
  • Open the circuit breaker 3JH1(P41) (3JH2(P42)).
On the engine 1(2):
  • Make sure that there is no noise from the two igniter plugs.
7.On the OVERHEAD C/B PNL:
  • Close the circuit breaker 1JH(A03).
On the engine 1(2):
  • Make sure that only one igniter plug makes a noise.
8.On the REAR C/B PNL:
  • Close the circuit breaker 3JH1(P41) (3JH2(P42)).
On the engine 1(2):
  • Make sure that the two igniter plugs make a noise.
9.On the ENG PNL:
  • Set the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch to OFF.
On the engine 1(2):
  • Make sure that there is no noise from the two igniter plugs.
10.On the OVERHEAD CTL & IND PNL:
  • Release the ENG/MAN START 1(2) pushbutton switch.
  • The ON legend of this pushbutton switch goes off.
  • On the lower ECAM display unit, on the ENGINE page.
  • The A and B indications go out of view.
11.On the ENG PNL:
  • Set the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch to NORM.
NOTE: The EEC stays electrically supplied for 5 minutes after you set:
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch to OFF.
  • The ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN START selector switch to NORM.

5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) On the MAINTENANCE PNL:
  • push the FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch. The ON legend goes off.
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure: (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
