Installation of the EEC Wiring Harness (WC10)

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-832).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the left thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 73-21-69-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the EEC Wiring Harness (WC10)
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Removal of protection covers
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Put the harness (WC10) (1) on the engine. See Sheet 1 of the figure.

   (3) Connect the harness (WC10) (1) connectors to the engine as follows:
     (a) Connect the connector (P38) to the main oil pressure sensor receptacle (J38) as follows: see Sheet 2 of the figure.

       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (b) Connect the connector (P40) to the active oil damper valve receptacle (J40) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (c) Connect the connector (P52) to the fuel oil cooler bypass valve receptacle (J52) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (d) Connect the connector (P29) to the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) slave actuator receptacle (J29) as follows: see Sheet 3 of the figure.

       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (e) Connect the connector (P35) to the oil differential pressure sensor receptacle (J35) as follows: see Sheet 4 of the figure.

       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (f) Connect the connector (P53) to the air pressure sensor receptacle (J56) as follows: see Sheet 5 of the figure.

       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (g) Connect the connector (P110) to the harness (W03) receptacle (J110) as follows: see Sheet 6 of the figure.

       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
   (4) Install the harness (WC10) (1) to the eight spring clips as follows: see Sheets 1 and 7 of the figure.

     (a) Start at the middle of the harness (WC10) (1).
     (b) Position and push the harness (WC10) (1) into the eight spring clips.
     (c) Make sure that all the spring clips engage with the harness (WC10) (1).
     (d) Make sure that the tension in the harness (WC10) (1) is sufficient to prevent loose or tight conditions.
   (5) Installation of the tie wrap
CAUTION: INSTALL TIE WRAPS ON THE HARNESS TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE FROM THE NACELLE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Install the TIE WRAP(S) to the harness (WC10) (1) and harness (W03). See Sheets 1 and 4 of the figure.

   (6) Examine the harness (WC10) (1) for contact with engine hardware which may cause chafing. See Sheet 1 of the figure.

NOTE: It is permitted to use P05-087tape, pressure sensitive, flat black on the harness (WC10) if it is loose in the spring clips.
   (7) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
5. Close-up

A. Test
   (1) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence

   (2) Do the test No. 7 (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-806).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the left thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):

   (1) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):

   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
