Subtask 73-21-50-420-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the J8 Harness
   (1) Apply a thin layer of graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) to the bolt threads before installation.
   (2) Set the J8 electrical harness in position on the fan frame and remove the caps from the connectors.
CAUTION: CAREFULLY ALIGN THE CONNECTOR KEY WITH THE RECEPTACLE KEYWAY BEFORE YOU CONNECT THEM TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE CONNECTORS.
CAUTION: DISTRIBUTE THE SLACK ALL ALONG THE CABLE. DO NOT LET THE CABLE SHEATH TOUCH THE ADJACENT COMPONENTS. DO NOT TWIST THE SHEATH BY MORE THAN 180 DEGREES.
   (3) Connect the electrical connectors:

PRE SB CFM 72-519

     (a) Connect the J8 electrical harness to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), the ECU cooling valve, the N2 speed sensor, the Hydromechanical Unit (HMU) and the fuel return valve as follows:

POST SB CFM 72-519

     (b) Connect the J8 electrical harness to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), the N2 speed sensor, the Hydromechanical Unit (HMU) and the fuel return valve as follows:

END OF SB CFM 72-519

1 Engage the connector in the related receptacle, and turn the knurled coupling ring by hand until full engagement.
2 Tighten the coupling ring with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
3 Make sure that the connector is fully engaged and does not move.
4 If necessary, do the above steps again.

PRE SB 72-169

   (4) Install the J8 harness in the the flexible clamp (81). Position the clamp between the brackets at the 5 o'clock location on flanges G and E (detail A). Attach the cover plate (85) with 2 bolts (82) and nuts (84). Tighten bolts by hand.

POST SB 72-169

   (5) Install the J8 harness in the flexible clamp (81). Position the clamp between the brackets at the 5 o'clock location on flange G and E (detail A). Attach the cover plate (85) with 2 bolts (82), J15 harness clamp (83), and nuts (84). Tighten bolts by hand.

END OF SB 72-169

   (6) Attach the J8 harness to the bracket at the 5:30 o'clock location between flanges G and E (detail D) with bolts (91). Tighten bolts by hand.
     (a) Install the clamp (93) and the bolt (92) which attach the J7 harness with the J8 harness to the left leg of the same bracket (detail E). Tighten the bolt by hand.
     (b) Attach the J7 and J8 harnesses together with the clip, and attach the assembly in the clip on the bracket attached to flange G on the left side of the 6 o'clock location (detail F).
