A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 73-21-10-010-058-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

A. General
(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
Subtask 73-21-10-420-059-A (1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
B. Installation of the Split Control Unit and Servo Valve Assembly (SCU/SVA)
(2) Install the 956A1614G01 ADAPTER, SCU/SVA on the 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE.
(4) Pre-install safety cable. This will be used later to secure the secondary supply hose (28).
(5) Move the SCU/SVA (5) into position with the 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE.
PRE SB 72-0207
(6) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the two bolts (54).
(7) Install the two bolts (54) that attach the SCU bracket (48) to the SCU bracket (56).
(8) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (47).
(9) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the SCU bracket (48) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(10) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the two bolts (53).
(11) Install the two bolts (53) that attach the SCU bracket (41) to the SCU bracket (55).
(12) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (46).
(13) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the SCU bracket (41) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(14) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolts (51).
(15) Install the two bolts (51) that attach the SCU bracket (50) to the SCU bracket (49).
(16) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolts (40).
(17) Install the two bolts (40) that attach the SCU bracket (50) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(18) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (37) and the bolt (39).
(19) Put the aft heat shield (38) with the attached fuel supply support bracket (14) in position on the SCU/SVA (5).
(20) Install the bolt (39) that attaches the aft heat shield (38) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(21) Install the bolt (37) that attaches the fuel supply support bracket (14) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(22) Put the SCU bracket (43) that attaches to the SCU bracket (42) in position.
(23) Install the two bolts (45) that attach the SCU bracket (43) to the SCU bracket (42) hand tight.
(24) Install the bolt (44) that attaches the SCU bracket (43) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(25) Make sure that the 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE and the 956A1614G01 ADAPTER, SCU/SVA do not apply load to SCU/SVA.
(26) TORQUE the two bolts (45) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(27) TORQUE the bolt (39) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
.
(28) TORQUE the bolt (37) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
.
(29) TORQUE the bolt (44) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
.
(30) TORQUE the bolts (54) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(34) Disconnect the 956A1614G01 ADAPTER, SCU/SVA from the SCU/SVA (5) and move the 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE away from the engine.
(35) Install the fuel manifold pressure transducer (36) to the SCU/SVA (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-35-400-801).

Subtask 73-21-10-420-060-A WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Clean the ports on the fuel tubes and the SCU/SVA (5) with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) . (2) Install the 956A1614G01 ADAPTER, SCU/SVA on the 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE.
NOTE: Refer to the 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE or operation/adjustment instructions.
(3) Install the SCU/SVA (5) on the 956A1614G01 ADAPTER, SCU/SVA. (4) Pre-install safety cable. This will be used later to secure the secondary supply hose (28).
(5) Move the SCU/SVA (5) into position with the 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE.
PRE SB 72-0207
(6) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the two bolts (54).
(7) Install the two bolts (54) that attach the SCU bracket (48) to the SCU bracket (56).
(8) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (47).
(9) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the SCU bracket (48) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(10) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the two bolts (53).
(11) Install the two bolts (53) that attach the SCU bracket (41) to the SCU bracket (55).
(12) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (46).
(13) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the SCU bracket (41) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(14) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolts (51).
(15) Install the two bolts (51) that attach the SCU bracket (50) to the SCU bracket (49).
(16) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolts (40).
(17) Install the two bolts (40) that attach the SCU bracket (50) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(18) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (37) and the bolt (39).
(19) Put the aft heat shield (38) with the attached fuel supply support bracket (14) in position on the SCU/SVA (5).
(20) Install the bolt (39) that attaches the aft heat shield (38) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(21) Install the bolt (37) that attaches the fuel supply support bracket (14) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(22) Put the SCU bracket (43) that attaches to the SCU bracket (42) in position.
(23) Install the two bolts (45) that attach the SCU bracket (43) to the SCU bracket (42) hand tight.
(24) Install the bolt (44) that attaches the SCU bracket (43) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(25) Make sure that the 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE and the 956A1614G01 ADAPTER, SCU/SVA do not apply load to SCU/SVA.
(26) TORQUE the two bolts (45) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
. (27) TORQUE the bolt (39) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
. (28) TORQUE the bolt (37) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

C. Installation of the Split Control Unit and Servo Valve Assembly (SCU/SVA)
POST SB 72-0207
(1) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the SCU bracket (48) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(2) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (46).
(3) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the SCU bracket (41) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(4) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the two bolts (40) and the two bolts (51).
(5) Install the two bolts (51) that attach the SCU bracket (50) to the SCU bracket (49) hand tight.
(6) Install the two bolts (40) that attach the SCU bracket (50) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(7) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (39) and the bolt (37).
(8) Put the aft heat shield (38) with the attached fuel supply support bracket (14) in position on the SCU/SVA (5).
(9) Install the bolt (39) that attaches the aft heat shield (38) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(10) Install the bolt (37) that attaches the fuel supply support bracket (14) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(11) Put the SCU bracket (52) that attach to SCU bracket (43) in position.
(12) Install the two bolts (45) that attach SCU bracket (43) to SCU bracket (52) hand tight.
(13) Install the bolt (44) that attaches SCU bracket (43) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(14) Make sure that 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE and 956A1614G01 ADAPTER, SCU/SVA do not apply load to SCU/SVA (5).
(15) TORQUE the two bolts (53) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(16) TORQUE the bolt (39) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
.
(17) TORQUE the bolt (37) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
.
(18) TORQUE the bolt (44) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(19) TORQUE the two bolts (51) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(24) Install the fuel manifold pressure transducer (36) to the SCU/SVA (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-35-400-801).

(25) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (17).
(26) Install the bolt (17) that attaches the loop clamp (15) and the main supply support bracket (14) hand tight.
(27) Connect the main supply hose (16) B-nut to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(28) Triple torque the main supply hose (16) B-nut as follows:
(a) TORQUE the main supply hose (16) B-nut to between 1102 and 938 lbf.in (12.45 and 10.60 m.daN )

(b) Loosen the main supply hose (16) B-nut until it is free running.
(c) TORQUE the main supply hose (16) B-nut to between 1102 and 938 lbf.in (12.45 and 10.60 m.daN )
.
(d) TORQUE the main supply hose again (16) B-nut to between 1102 and 938 lbf.in (12.45 and 10.60 m.daN )
.
(e) Apply safety cable.
(29) TORQUE the bolt (17) that attaches the loop clamp (15) and the main supply hose (16) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) to between 37 and 33 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.37 m.daN )
.
(30) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (34).
(31) Install the bolt (34) that attaches the loop clamp (33) and the supply hose (32) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) hand tight.
(32) Connect the supply hose (32) B-nut to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(33) Triple torque the supply hose (32) B-nut as follows:
(a) TORQUE the supply hose (32) B-nut to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )

(b) Loosen the supply hose (32) B-nut until it is free-running.
(c) TORQUE the supply hose (32) B-nut to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
.
(d) TORQUE the supply hose (32) B-nut again to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
.
(e) Apply safety cable.
(34) TORQUE the bolt (34) that attaches the loop clamp (33) and the supply hose (32) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) to between 37 and 33 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.37 m.daN )
.
(35) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (19).
(36) Put a new EIPC 73-21-10-01-100 GASKET (20) in position between the P23 fuel supply hose (18) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(37) Install the four bolts (19) that attach the P23 fuel supply hose (18) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(38) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the four bolts (21).
(39) Put a new EIPC 73-21-10-01-130 GASKET (27) in position between the fuel PB return hose (22) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(40) Put the support bracket (26) in position on the fuel PB return hose (22).
(41) Install the four bolts (21) that attach the fuel PB return hose (22) and the support bracket (26) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(42) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (30).
(43) Connect the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(44) Install the bolt (30) that attaches the loop clamp (31) and the secondary (28) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) hand tight.
(45) Triple torque the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut as follows:
(a) TORQUE the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut to between 778 and 662 lbf.in (8.79 and 7.48 m.daN )

(b) Loosen the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut until it is free-running.
(c) TORQUE the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut to between 778 and 662 lbf.in (8.79 and 7.48 m.daN )
.
(d) TORQUE the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut again to between 778 and 662 lbf.in (8.79 and 7.48 m.daN )
.
(e) Apply safety cable.
(46) TORQUE the bolt (30) that attaches the loop clamp (31) and the secondary supply hose (28) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN )
.
(47) Put a new EIPC 73-00-00-20-250 GASKET (4) in position between the TBV-SBV fuel manifold (2) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(48) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the four bolts (3).
(49) Install the four bolts (3) that attach the TBV-SBV fuel manifold (2) and the gasket (4) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(50) Put a new EIPC 73-00-00-20-230 GASKET (12) in position between the MTC ACC fuel manifold (13) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(50) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolts (1).
(51) Install the four bolts (1) that attach the MTC ACC fuel manifold (13) and the gasket (12) to the SCU/SVA (5).
(52) Put a new EIPC 73-00-00-20-740 GASKET (9) in position between the VBV-VSV fuel manifold (10) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(53) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolts (11).
(54) Install the four bolts (11) that attach the VBV-VSV fuel manifold (10) and the gasket (9) to the SCU/SVA (5).
(55) Connect the PHS fuel tube (6) to the SCU/SVA (5).
(56) TORQUE the four bolts (19) for the P23 supply hose (18) to between 59 and 51 lbf.in (0.67 and 0.58 m.daN )

(57) TORQUE the four bolts (21) for the fuel PB return hose (22) to between 59 and 51 lbf.in (0.67 and 0.58 m.daN )
.

(64) Connect the electrical connector (8) to the SCU/SVA (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
(65) Connect the electrical connector (7) to the SCU/SVA (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
(66) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (23).
(67) Install the bolt (23) that attaches the loop clamp (24) and the HJ5A harness (25) to the support bracket (26).
(68) TORQUE the bolt (23) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN )

(69) Connect the electrical connector (35) to the fuel manifold pressure transducer (36) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).

(1) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the SCU bracket (48) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(2) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (46).
(3) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the SCU bracket (41) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(4) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the two bolts (40) and the two bolts (51).
(5) Install the two bolts (51) that attach the SCU bracket (50) to the SCU bracket (49) hand tight.
(6) Install the two bolts (40) that attach the SCU bracket (50) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(7) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (39) and the bolt (37).
(8) Put the aft heat shield (38) with the attached fuel supply support bracket (14) in position on the SCU/SVA (5).
(9) Install the bolt (39) that attaches the aft heat shield (38) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(10) Install the bolt (37) that attaches the fuel supply support bracket (14) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(11) Put the SCU bracket (52) that attach to SCU bracket (43) in position.
(12) Install the two bolts (45) that attach SCU bracket (43) to SCU bracket (52) hand tight.
(13) Install the bolt (44) that attaches SCU bracket (43) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(14) Make sure that 9471M17 STAND, JACK - LRU INSTALL/REMOVE and 956A1614G01 ADAPTER, SCU/SVA do not apply load to SCU/SVA (5).
(15) TORQUE the two bolts (53) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
. (16) TORQUE the bolt (39) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
. (17) TORQUE the bolt (37) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(25) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (17).
(26) Install the bolt (17) that attaches the loop clamp (15) and the main supply support bracket (14) hand tight.
(27) Connect the main supply hose (16) B-nut to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(28) Triple torque the main supply hose (16) B-nut as follows:
(a) TORQUE the main supply hose (16) B-nut to between 1102 and 938 lbf.in (12.45 and 10.60 m.daN )
. (b) Loosen the main supply hose (16) B-nut until it is free running.
(c) TORQUE the main supply hose (16) B-nut to between 1102 and 938 lbf.in (12.45 and 10.60 m.daN )
. (d) TORQUE the main supply hose again (16) B-nut to between 1102 and 938 lbf.in (12.45 and 10.60 m.daN )
. (e) Apply safety cable.
(29) TORQUE the bolt (17) that attaches the loop clamp (15) and the main supply hose (16) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) to between 37 and 33 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.37 m.daN )
. (30) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (34).
(31) Install the bolt (34) that attaches the loop clamp (33) and the supply hose (32) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) hand tight.
(32) Connect the supply hose (32) B-nut to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(33) Triple torque the supply hose (32) B-nut as follows:
(a) TORQUE the supply hose (32) B-nut to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
. (b) Loosen the supply hose (32) B-nut until it is free-running.
(c) TORQUE the supply hose (32) B-nut to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
. (d) TORQUE the supply hose (32) B-nut again to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
. (e) Apply safety cable.
(34) TORQUE the bolt (34) that attaches the loop clamp (33) and the supply hose (32) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) to between 37 and 33 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.37 m.daN )
. (35) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (19).
(36) Put a new EIPC 73-21-10-01-100 GASKET (20) in position between the P23 fuel supply hose (18) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(37) Install the four bolts (19) that attach the P23 fuel supply hose (18) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(38) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the four bolts (21).
(39) Put a new EIPC 73-21-10-01-130 GASKET (27) in position between the fuel PB return hose (22) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(40) Put the support bracket (26) in position on the fuel PB return hose (22).
(41) Install the four bolts (21) that attach the fuel PB return hose (22) and the support bracket (26) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(42) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolt (30).
(43) Connect the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(44) Install the bolt (30) that attaches the loop clamp (31) and the secondary (28) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) hand tight.
(45) Triple torque the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut as follows:
(a) TORQUE the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut to between 778 and 662 lbf.in (8.79 and 7.48 m.daN )
. (b) Loosen the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut until it is free-running.
(c) TORQUE the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut to between 778 and 662 lbf.in (8.79 and 7.48 m.daN )
. (d) TORQUE the secondary supply hose (28) B-nut again to between 778 and 662 lbf.in (8.79 and 7.48 m.daN )
. (e) Apply safety cable.
(46) TORQUE the bolt (30) that attaches the loop clamp (31) and the secondary supply hose (28) to the fuel supply support bracket (14) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN )
. (47) Put a new EIPC 73-00-00-20-250 GASKET (4) in position between the TBV-SBV fuel manifold (2) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(48) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the four bolts (3).
(49) Install the four bolts (3) that attach the TBV-SBV fuel manifold (2) and the gasket (4) to the SCU/SVA (5) hand tight.
(50) Put a new EIPC 73-00-00-20-230 GASKET (12) in position between the MTC ACC fuel manifold (13) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(50) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolts (1).
(51) Install the four bolts (1) that attach the MTC ACC fuel manifold (13) and the gasket (12) to the SCU/SVA (5).
(52) Put a new EIPC 73-00-00-20-740 GASKET (9) in position between the VBV-VSV fuel manifold (10) and the SCU/SVA (5).
(53) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads of the bolts (11).
(54) Install the four bolts (11) that attach the VBV-VSV fuel manifold (10) and the gasket (9) to the SCU/SVA (5).
(55) Connect the PHS fuel tube (6) to the SCU/SVA (5).
(56) TORQUE the four bolts (19) for the P23 supply hose (18) to between 59 and 51 lbf.in (0.67 and 0.58 m.daN )
. (57) TORQUE the four bolts (21) for the fuel PB return hose (22) to between 59 and 51 lbf.in (0.67 and 0.58 m.daN )
