A. Installation of the Data Storage Unit (DSU)
(2) Do a check that the DSU data part number selected is compatible with the engine configuration. Refer to SB PW1000G-C-72-00-0001-00A-930A-D.
(3) Install the DSU (3) on the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) as follows:
(a) Connect the DSU (3) to the EEC receptacle (J99) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly inward on the connector while tightening the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT and tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the pliers slip on the connector ring.
(b) Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the bolt (2).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (2) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
.
(4) Make sure that the most current DSU plug is installed. Check the number marked on the plug to the DSU data part number marked on the engine data plate.
(5) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
(6) Fault message ENG 2 FUEL VALVE FAULT / FUEL VALVE NOT OPEN (code 0119) at power ON.
5. Close-upCAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Removal of protection covers: CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Do a check that the DSU data part number selected is compatible with the engine configuration. Refer to SB PW1000G-C-72-00-0001-00A-930A-D.

(b) Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the bolt (2).
NOTE: For the new or refurbished bolts or the nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Attach the DSU lanyard to the EEC support bracket with the bolt (2).
NOTE: The Maintenance Message ENGxD-0019-HPSOV FAIL and the ECAM message ENG x FUEL VALVE FAULT can set during the Overspeed Spool down Test during engine shutdown when it should not.
If the ECAM alert ENG X FUEL VALVE FAULT with accompanying ENGxD-0019-HPSOV FAIL Maintenance Message was set during shutdown perform one engine run to idle followed by an engine shutdown to clear this fault.
A second engine run to idle may be required to observe the fault clearing from the Ground Scanning Report. If the ECAM alert returns during the second shutdown, continue to troubleshoot this fault TSM 73-11-00-810-819.
