A. Installation of the Generator Power Harness 238W09036
NOTE: Refer to the recommended procedure for the installation of the wire harness (Ref. AMM TASK 70-60-00-910-042).
   (1) Remove the protective covers from the electrical connectors on the harness (5) and the pylon junction box.
   (2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Do not clean the contacts with abrasive material.
   (4) Do a pin retention check of the sockets (Ref. AWM 20-44-14).
   (5) Put the electrical harness (5) in position on the engine.
   (6) Connect the electrical connector 400VC-A to the pylon junction box.
     (a) Tighten the connector by hand until the colored marking is visible in the lock display (window).
   (7) Put the harness (5) into the flip-lock clamps (10).
   (8) Tighten the captive screws 1/4 turn clockwise to engage the cam nuts.
   (9) Cleaning of the mating surfaces:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Clean the mating surfaces of the ground cable terminals and the ground plate with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (10) Attach the harness cables (5) to the ground plate with the bolt (15), the washer (20), the lockwasher (25) and the nut (30). Remove the tags.
   (11) TORQUE the nut (30) to between 110 and 95 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.07 m.daN ) T.
   (12) Attach the ground cables (60), (65), (120) and (125) to the IDG terminals with the washers (55), the lockwashers (50), and the nuts (45).
   (13) TORQUE the nuts (45) to between 14 and 12 lbf.ft (1.90 and 1.63 m.daN )
T.
   (14) Install the cover (40) on the IDG terminal with the screws (35).
   (15) TORQUE the screws (35) to between 22 and 20 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.23 m.daN )
T.
   (16) Attach the bracket (85) to the line block (80) with the bolt (95), the washers (90) and (75), and nut (70).
   (17) TORQUE the nut (70) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
T.
   (18) Attach the clamp (110) to the bracket (85) with the screw (105), the washer (100) and the nut (115).
   (19) TORQUE the nut (115) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
T.
   (20) Examine the harness installation and make sure that all clamps and line blocks are installed correctly.

B. Do an electrical bond resistance check as follows:
NOTE: The electrical bond resistance procedure that follows is applicable for the electrical harness ground cables.
   (1) Put one lead of the ohmmeter on the ground cable terminal near the bolt (15).
   (2) Put the other lead of the ohmmeter on the top surface of the bracket.
   (3) The resistance measured between the ohmmeter leads must not be more than 0.001 ohm.
   (4) If the resistance is more than 0.001 ohm, remove the applicable hardware and clean the mating surface again. Do this procedure until the resistance is less than 0.001 ohm.
