BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.

Subtask 54-50-00-941-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, at zone 420.
(2) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-002):
(a) For the left pylon: 413AL and 413CL
(b) For the right pylon: 423AL and 423CL.
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, at zone 420.
(2) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-002):
(a) For the left pylon: 413AL and 413CL
(b) For the right pylon: 423AL and 423CL.
Subtask 54-50-00-220-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection of the CAF 4 Sealant in Pylon Cantilever Zone A
(1) Do a detailed visual inspection of the bottom surface of pylon cantilever zone A with the FLASHLIGHT and the MIRROR - INSPECTION, FLEXIBLE.
(2) Make sure that kerosene or hydraulic fluid does not cause contamination of the CAF 4 sealant:
(a) If the volume of the sealant increased and the sealant breaks easily, there is kerosene contamination.
(b) If the volume of the sealant did not change but its color became yellow, there is hydraulic fluid contamination.
(3) If you find contamination, repair the CAF 4 sealant (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-00-300-001).
5. Close-up(1) Do a detailed visual inspection of the bottom surface of pylon cantilever zone A with the FLASHLIGHT and the MIRROR - INSPECTION, FLEXIBLE.
(2) Make sure that kerosene or hydraulic fluid does not cause contamination of the CAF 4 sealant:
(a) If the volume of the sealant increased and the sealant breaks easily, there is kerosene contamination.
(b) If the volume of the sealant did not change but its color became yellow, there is hydraulic fluid contamination.
(3) If you find contamination, repair the CAF 4 sealant (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-00-300-001).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-400-002):
(a) For the left pylon: 413AL and 413CL
(b) For the right pylon: 423AL and 423CL.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-400-002):
(a) For the left pylon: 413AL and 413CL
(b) For the right pylon: 423AL and 423CL.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
