3. Job Set-up
Subtask 54-50-00-941-078-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the flaps and slats are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, at zones 415 and 470
     (b) For the right pylon, at zones 425 and 480.
   (2) Remove the access skin panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-807):
     (a) For the left pylon: 413BL
     (b) For the right pylon: 424BR.
   (3) Remove the pylon-to-wing access panels and doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-806):
     (a) For the left pylon: 413ET and 471BL
     (b) For the right pylon: 423ET and 482BR.
   (4) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
   (5) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
   (6) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-804):
     (a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BL 415BR and 415CR
     (b) For the right pylon: 425AL 425BL 425BR and 425CR.
   (7) Remove the rear pylon fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-804).
   (8) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below:
     (a) The zone F drain-line outlet
     (b) The zone D drain-line outlet.
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-50-00-200-050-A
A. Operational Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the drain lines in zones C, G and D:
     (a) Install a plug on the zone D drain-line outlet.
     (b) Put water in the zone A drainage to fill the zone A drain lines:
  • Make sure that the water flows freely from the zone A drain-line outlet.
  • Then, install a plug on the zone A drain-line outlet and stop the water supply when the drain line is full.
     (c) Put water in the front and rear drainages of zone F to fill the zone F drain lines:
  • Make sure that the water flows freely from the zone F drain-line outlet.
  • Then, install a plug on the zone F drain-line outlet and stop the water supply when the drain line is full.
NOTE: To get the most accurate results for the leakage test, the water must stay a minimum of 10 minutes in the drain lines.
     (d) Make sure that there is no leakage along the drain lines from the drain line connections to the drain line outlet. If necessary, use the FLASHLIGHT and the MIRROR - INSPECTION, FLEXIBLE.
     (e) Remove the plug from the zone A drain-line outlet.
     (f) Drain the water from the zone A drain-line outlet.
     (g) Remove the plug from the zone F drain-line outlet.
     (h) Drain the water from the zone F drain-line outlet.
     (i) Remove the plug from the zone D drain-line outlet.
     (j) Drain the water.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
   (2) Install the rear pylon fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-400-803).
   (3) Install the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-400-803):
     (a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BL 415BR and 415CR
     (b) For the right pylon: 425AL 425BL 425BR and 425CR.
   (4) Close the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-806):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
   (5) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
   (6) Install the pylon-to-wing access panels and doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-806):
     (a) For the left pylon: 413ET and 471BL
     (b) For the right pylon: 423ET and 482BR.
   (7) Install the access skin panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-400-807):
     (a) For the left pylon: 413BL
     (b) For the right pylon: 424BR.

B. Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser
   (1) Make the thrust reverser serviceable after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-807).

   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
