A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zones 410 and 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zones 420 and 480.

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-53-11-110-053-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). C. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Make sure that the sealant is removed from the forward fairing structure and around the edges of access panels 413CL ( 424CR), 471AL ( 482AR), 472AR ( 481AL) and 472BR ( 481BL).
(3) If they are not sufficiently clean, clean the parts with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Make sure that the sealant is removed from the forward fairing structure and around the edges of access panels 413CL ( 424CR), 471AL ( 482AR), 472AR ( 481AL) and 472BR ( 481BL).
(3) If they are not sufficiently clean, clean the parts with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE SEALS OF THE ACCESS PANELS ARE IN THE CORRECT POSITION BELOW THE WING LOWER SURFACE.
YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SEALS IF THEY ARE NOT IN THE CORRECT POSITION.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
A. Installation of the Pylon-to-Wing Access Panels and Doors NOTE: The procedure is the same for all the panels and the doors:
(1) To make the installation easier, you can apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on the seals of the pylon-to-wing access panels and doors. (2) Put the pylon-to-wing access panel/door (1) in position with the centering pins.
(3) When you install the screws (2), do the electrical bonding at the applicable location (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(4) Install the screws (2) and tighten them.
(5) Check the electrical bonding of the installed pylon-to-wing access panels and doors (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-010).
B. Check of the Clearances
(1) Make sure that peripheral clearance J1 between external lateral panel 413BL (424BR) and access panel 413CL ( 424CR) is 4 +2.8 mm or -2.8 mm (0.1575 +0.1102 in. or -0.1102 in.).
(2) Make sure that peripheral clearance J2 between exchanger panel 413DT (423DT) and access panel 413CL ( 424CR) is 4 +2.8 mm or -2.8 mm (0.1575 +0.1102 in. or -0.1102 in.).
(3) Make sure that peripheral clearance J3 between access panels 413ET ( 423ET) and 413CL ( 424CR) is 4 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1575 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(4) Make sure that peripheral clearance J4 between access panels 413CL ( 424CR) and 471AL ( 482AR) is 4 +2.6 mm or -2.6 mm (0.1575 +0.1024 in. or -0.1024 in.).
(5) Make sure that peripheral clearance J5 between access panels 413ET ( 423ET) and 471AL ( 482AR) is 4 +2.6 mm or -2.6 mm (0.1575 +0.1024 in. or -0.1024 in.).
(6) Make sure that peripheral clearance J6 between access panel 471AL ( 482AR) and access door 471BL ( 482BR) is 4 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1575 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(7) Make sure that peripheral clearance J7 between access door 471BL ( 482BR) and access panel 471CL ( 482CR) is 4 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1575 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(8) Make sure that peripheral clearance J8 between access panel 471CL ( 482CR) and the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF) is 5 +2.1 mm or -2.1 mm (0.1969 +0.0827 in. or -0.0827 in.).
(9) Make sure that peripheral clearance J9 between the band and access panel 471CL ( 482CR) is 3 +2.5 mm or -2.5 mm (0.1181 +0.0984 in. or -0.0984 in.).
(12) Make sure that peripheral clearance J12 between exchanger panel 413DT (423DT) and access panel 472AR ( 481AL) is 4 +3.6 mm or -3.6 mm (0.1575 +0.1417 in. or -0.1417 in.).
(13) Make sure that peripheral clearance J13 between access panels 413ET ( 423ET) and 472AR ( 481AL) is 4 +2.8 mm or -2.8 mm (0.1575 +0.1102 in. or -0.1102 in.).
(14) Make sure that peripheral clearance J14 between the internal lateral panel 414BR (423BL) and access panel 472AR ( 481AL) is 4 +3.4 mm or -3.4 mm (0.1575 +0.1339 in. or -0.1339 in.).

(2) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet 120 degre Celsius (Material No.06ABB2) around the edges of access panels 413CL ( 424CR), 471AL ( 482AR), 472AR ( 481AR) and 472BR ( 481BL) at the applicable location.
5. Close-up(1) Clean the area around the edges of access panels 413CL ( 424CR), 471AL ( 482AR), 472AR ( 481AL) and 472BR ( 481BL) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet 120 degre Celsius (Material No.06ABB2) around the edges of access panels 413CL ( 424CR), 471AL ( 482AR), 472AR ( 481AR) and 472BR ( 481BL) at the applicable location.
