Subtask 20-28-00-869-114-A
A. General
(1) The recommended procedure for the check of the electrical bonding of the external composite panels and the nose radome (with or without non-conductive finish paint on the antistatic paint) uses a resistivity test set (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-010).
4. Procedure(1) The recommended procedure for the check of the electrical bonding of the external composite panels and the nose radome (with or without non-conductive finish paint on the antistatic paint) uses a resistivity test set (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-010).
Subtask 20-28-00-869-115-A
A. Measurement of the Electrical Resistance for Nose Radome
(1) Make sure that the nose radome is closed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-410-001).
(2) Local paint removal:
(a) For all the nose radomes (do not include the S2 GLASS nose radome):
(a) MEGOHMETER MULTIRANGE, with the applicable leads and prods:
(a) For all the nose radomes (do not include the S2 GLASS nose radome):
(7) Do a paint touch-up of the stripped area:
(a) For all types of nose radomes (not applicable to the S2 GLASS nose radome)CMM 531511 .
(b) For the S2 GLASS nose radome onlyCMM 531512 .
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the nose radome is closed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-410-001).
(2) Local paint removal:
(a) For all the nose radomes (do not include the S2 GLASS nose radome):
- Remove a small area (approximately 5 mm2 (0.0078 in.2)) of paint from each lightning arrestor strip to get the correct measurement of the ohmic resistance.
NOTE: You can remove a small quantity of paint from the nearest stud of the fuselage, because there is no anti-erosion paint in this area.
(b) For the S2 GLASS nose radome (P/N 53132110000):- Remove a small area (approximately 5 mm2 (0.0078 in.2)) of paint from one stud head of each lightning arrestor strip to get the correct measurement of the ohmic resistance.
NOTE: You can remove a small quantity of paint from the nearest stud of the fuselage, because there is no anti-erosion paint in this area.
(3) Equipment(a) MEGOHMETER MULTIRANGE, with the applicable leads and prods:
- Diameter 4 MM (0.16 IN.).
- Set the range to 200 MOHMS.
- Set the tension to 500 VDC.
(a) For all the nose radomes (do not include the S2 GLASS nose radome):
- Measure the ohmic resistance between each lightning arrestor strip of the nose radome and the adjacent primary structure of the aircraft.
- Measure the ohmic resistance between the applicable stud head of each lightning arrestor strip of the nose radome and the adjacent primary structure.
- Make sure that the measured values are not higher than the maximum permitted values (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-869-002).
(7) Do a paint touch-up of the stripped area:
(a) For all types of nose radomes (not applicable to the S2 GLASS nose radome)
(b) For the S2 GLASS nose radome only
Subtask 20-28-00-942-117-A
A. Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
