CAUTION: DO NOT POINT THE SPRAY GUN OF THE WATER HIGH-PRESSURE CLEANER AT ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, HARNESSES, SENSORS, CONNECTORS, EQUIPMENT AND ACTUATOR BEARINGS. WATER CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THESE COMPONENTS.

CLEANING AGENT ON OR IN THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1. Reason for the Job
This is an alternative method to solvent cleaning for the removal of corrosion preventive compounds, Material Nos. (15-004, 15-005, 15-006, 15-007, 15-008 and 15-009 from large areas).

3. Job Set-up

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (2) Disconnect the electrical connector from the battery (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-000-001).
   (3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (4) Do not spray the cleaning solution directly on the electrical connection.

B. Get Access
   (1) Get access to the area(s) where you will do the work.

C. Removal and Cleaning of Components
   (1) Remove the components from the area where the corrosion preventive compound must be removed.
   (2) Install protective covers on all the electrical outlets to protect them against contamination.
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Corrosion Preventive Compound
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Apply a thin layer of the Non Aqueous Cleaner-Wax and grease remover - - (Material No.08BDA1) to the area.
   (2) Let the Non Aqueous Cleaner-Wax and grease remover - - (Material No.08BDA1) soak into the corrosion preventive compound for a minimum of 20 minutes.
   (3) Flush the area with water with a maximum temperature of 50 deg.C (122.00 deg.F). Use a CLEANING EQUIPMENT - HIGH PRESSURE to do this, as follows:
     (a) Hold the spray gun of the CLEANING EQUIPMENT - HIGH PRESSURE with an angle of 30 to 45 degrees to the surface.
     (b) Make sure that the distance between the nozzle of the CLEANING EQUIPMENT - HIGH PRESSURE and the surface is more than 250 mm (9.8425 in.).
     (c) Do not apply more than 80 bar (1160.3016 psi) water pressure to the structure.
     (d) Do not apply more than 2 bar (29.0075 psi) water pressure to the composite materials.
   (4) Dry the area with a HOT AIR BLOWER OPERATING 40 DEG C(104 F).
   (5) If necessary repair the corroded areas (Ref. AMM TASK 51-74-11-300-001).
   (6) If necessary repair the damaged paint on aluminum and/or composite materials (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-003).
   (7) Apply the new corrosion preventive compound as necessary SRM 51231200.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install all the components that were removed for the removal of the corrosion preventive compound.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (2) Connect the electrical connector to the battery (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-400-001).
   (3) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

C. Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
