WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DRAIN THE ENGINE OIL AND/OR LOOSEN THE FILLER CAP. HOT OIL CAN SPILL PAST THE FILLER CAP WHEN THE OIL LEVEL IS ABOVE THE 'ADD' RANGE (MARKED ON THE SIGHT GLASS).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
(3) Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5) Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU compartment.
(6) Make sure that the APU access doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(7) Make sure that the LIGHT control switch 11LJ is set to the on position.

A. Installation of the Pressure Relief Valve
(1) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 49-91-04-50-110 PACKING (1) or AIPC 49-91-84-20-130 PACKING (1) and the new AIPC 49-91-04-50-120 PACKING (2) or AIPC 49-91-84-20-140 PACKING (2).
(2) Install the new packings (1) and (2) on the pressure relief valve (3).
(3) Install the pressure relief valve (3) on the APU gearbox.
(4) TORQUE the pressure relief valve (3) to between 40 and 35 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.40 m.daN )

(5) Safety the pressure relief valve (3) with 19-507 CORROSION RESISTANT STEEL LOCKWIRE.
(6) Fill the APU oil reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 49-90-00-600-004).
Subtask 49-91-43-865-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 49-91-04-50-110 PACKING (1) or AIPC 49-91-84-20-130 PACKING (1) and the new AIPC 49-91-04-50-120 PACKING (2) or AIPC 49-91-84-20-140 PACKING (2).
(2) Install the new packings (1) and (2) on the pressure relief valve (3).
(3) Install the pressure relief valve (3) on the APU gearbox.
(4) TORQUE the pressure relief valve (3) to between 40 and 35 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.40 m.daN )
. (5) Safety the pressure relief valve (3) with 19-507 CORROSION RESISTANT STEEL LOCKWIRE.
(6) Fill the APU oil reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 49-90-00-600-004).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Leak Test of the Pressure Relief Valve
(1) Start and operate the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-710-008) for min. 5 minutes.
(a) Examine the joint of the pressure relief valve (3) and the APU for leaks.
5. Close-up(1) Start and operate the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-710-008) for min. 5 minutes.
(a) Examine the joint of the pressure relief valve (3) and the APU for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
(2) Stop the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-710-008). Subtask 49-91-43-410-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3) Close the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 49-91-43-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3) Close the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Put the related hydraulic system in the pressurized configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Put the related hydraulic system in the pressurized configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
