A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
(3) Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5) Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU compartment.
(6) Make sure that the APU access doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(7) Make sure that the LIGHT control switch 11LJ is set to the on position.
Subtask 49-51-42-865-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

A. Installation of the Air By-Pass Duct
(a) Remove the band clamp (4).
(b) Remove the sleeve (3) from the air by-pass duct (5). Discard the sleeve (3).
(c) Install a new AIPC 49-51-04-50-080 SLEEVE (3) on the air by-pass duct (5) and safety it with the band clamp (4).
(d) TORQUE the band clamp (4) to between 13.65 and 12.35 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.14 m.daN )

(2) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the exhaust duct (1) and the bleed control valve (7).
(3) Put the air by-pass duct (5) in position between the bleed control valve (7) and the exhaust duct (1).
(4) Safety the air by-pass duct (5) with the V-band clamp (6) to the bleed control valve (7).
(5) Safety the air by-pass duct (5) with the band clamp (2) to the exhaust duct (1).
(6) TORQUE the V-band clamp (6) to between 29.4 and 26.6 lbf.in (0.33 and 0.30 m.daN )

(7) TORQUE the band clamp (2) to between 13.65 and 12.35 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.14 m.daN )
.
Subtask 49-51-42-865-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
DO NOT TORQUE THE V-CLAMP(S) TO MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED VALUE. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLANGE SURFACES.
(1) If it is necessary, install a new sleeve (3): (a) Remove the band clamp (4).
(b) Remove the sleeve (3) from the air by-pass duct (5). Discard the sleeve (3).
(c) Install a new AIPC 49-51-04-50-080 SLEEVE (3) on the air by-pass duct (5) and safety it with the band clamp (4).
(d) TORQUE the band clamp (4) to between 13.65 and 12.35 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.14 m.daN )
. (2) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the exhaust duct (1) and the bleed control valve (7).
(3) Put the air by-pass duct (5) in position between the bleed control valve (7) and the exhaust duct (1).
(4) Safety the air by-pass duct (5) with the V-band clamp (6) to the bleed control valve (7).
(5) Safety the air by-pass duct (5) with the band clamp (2) to the exhaust duct (1).
(6) TORQUE the V-band clamp (6) to between 29.4 and 26.6 lbf.in (0.33 and 0.30 m.daN )
. (7) TORQUE the band clamp (2) to between 13.65 and 12.35 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.14 m.daN )
. B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Test
(1) Do the operational test of the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-710-008).
(a) Operate the APU for min. five minutes and examine the joints of the air by-pass duct for leaks (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-790-005).

NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3) Close the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 49-51-42-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3) Close the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
